Anyone tried Zumba? What do you think?

I get embarrassed easily so I wonder if this would be over the top for me. :haha:

I have heard that the Zumba on Kinect is fun but haven't tried it. We need to remember that people are thinking about themselves instead of staring at us (!) in a class if that's what you're worried about....
I used to take dance classes as a kid and loved it. Find the exercise you love doing then you'll want to do it! Give it a try=)

I also want to try out Zumba. The local YMCA offers classes that I can attend. I've tried dancing lessons before just for fun and I would get a good workout.

Zumba is so fun! I am not very coordinated so I was a little worried, but its fine. Nobody seems to notice other's misdeeds, and if the steps are really tricky everyone is fumbling and laughing. I figure, even if I can't move the way the instructor does, just moving around is good for me!

It is super fun. Don't worry about other people. Most people can't move as well as the instructor! You just keep up the best you can. The main thing is to just keep moving, even if you're not following the steps exactly!

    Definitely try it.

I think I will try to go to one class since you pay as you go.

I plan to try it at my Y sometime soon. It's an 8:45 am class so I've been waiting for school to finish so I can give it a go. And tomorrow is finally my last day :).

I figure it looks fun and is definitely a good workout, and I can't possibly be the only uncoordinated person there :).

My friend teaches it. She said it's fun and a good cardio activity but unless you need to lose weight/ water weight through cardio it's probably not the best exercise for you.

I tried Zumba when my district did a health and wellness PD and it was so fun! I was a SWEATY mess by the end.

I'm not trying to lose weight just tone up a bit. Wonder if this is the best thing or maybe I should try yoga or something else.

Ive heard good things about the Jillian 30 Day Shred.

I'm not 100% sure as things are different for everyone but I don't know if Zumba would be the best for toning.

There's a Zumba class at the Y where I work out. I've thought about trying it out.

I'm thinking of trying Zumba once a week and then pilates twice a week. I love pilates and it's great for abs.

Marci the main thing I want to tone is my stomach so maybe I need to do pilates.

I love it! It is fun and doesn't really feel like a workout (and I am not coordinated at all!)

With pilates I know I am not flexible at all so would this be hard for me?

Right now, I'm really enjoying Your Shape: Fitness Evolved for XBox Kinect. It's nice to be able to do at home whenever I want. They have partnered with various personal trainers and Mens/Womens Health Magazines to design different workouts. Depending on the day I will do cardio boxing, cardio aerobics, pilates, and the skinny jeans workout. You are able to download and add on other workouts if you get bored with the ones already provided.

I had to adapt some of the moves because I can't bend my knee as much as I used to. The video provides some accomodations for people with back or neck problems.

I found one part of the video in youtuve. You can check it out and see if it can work out for you.
