Hello, For our open house our kindergarten team is planning a zoo animal theme. Does anyone have any good math or language arts games that families could play? Or any neat art projects? Thanks!
I don't know if this is "neat," but I made a beginning and ending sounds games with zoo animals. I just found some clip art of various animals and cut it into thirds so that there is a head, body, and tail/behind. I pasted the middles down and wrote in the middle of the words. They have to find the matching head and tail and then find the beginning sound and ending sound to write it underneath. This is laminated so that the children can write with dry erase markers. I have it glued into a file folder game called "Crazy Zoo Animals." You could also just make a zoo animal game board. Have students/parents roll a dice and then they have to read a sight word in order to move the number shown on the dice. First one to the zoo, wins!
