You're given $500 right now, what would you do?! :)

I SHOULD save most of it. However, since it's summer & all, I'd do some shopping & spend about 1/2. I'd get clothes, sunglasses, & probably some DVDs.

I'd put $100 into my savings account, use another $100 to put toward a credit card and take the rest on my honeymoon. (We're taking a cruise out of the country, so I'd love to buy a really beautiful piece of jewelry as a keepsake)

    Go to Atlantic City, gamble.

Don't put it in any accounts, can't have social security knowing that I have money.

I'd pay some bills and look to pay it forward to someone else like some baby food or some gas for someone who needs it

I've been craving spam musubi lately, so I'd go out and buy $100 worth of the stuff.

Then I'd grab my hoosband and take a weekend trip to San Diego.

I would use it to pay the bill for my car. I took it in for an alignment and oil change today. They just called to say I need 2 new tires (which I was somewhat expecting). So now my bill is going to be almost $500.

I'd like to take it & go shopping for fall clothes. I'm tired of my clothes.

Realistically, pay some bills. We've done a lot of work on the house this summer.

I'd spend it on something memorable that we cannot afford:
Take the fam to a show like The Blue Man Group or Stomp?
or to a Brewers or Packers game?

After my DF passed away, we were cleaning out his stuff. We found $500 that he had stashed away. All of his girls went shopping, as we knew he would want us to enjoy it.

Another one for putting it in the bank. I don't immediately spend money that shows up unexpectedly, because I know I'll be glad to have a few extra bucks when the need comes up. There's nothing I really need right now, or that I want but can't afford (other than, you know, having more money in general). Plus, I'm saving up to travel. If I got a million dollars, on the other hand, I might stop by the mall before being responsible with the rest. ;)

I am doing a lot of updating/renovating on my house, so it would go towards that. I really want to remove my popcorn ceilings but think it is too hard of a job to do myself, so maybe it would help pay for that. My husband thinks it is a want, not a need, if you know what I mean.

I have spent the last 4 days painting kitchen cabinets and there is a lot more work to do. So many steps:remove hardware, tsp, deglosser, sand, clean, prime, sand, clean, prime, sand, clean, paint, sand, clean, paint, reinstall hardware and mount!

Oh, and my husband is recovering from surgery and can't help, as planned. :help: His surgeon just told us 4-6 more weeks until he can do anything!!! We thought it was going to be 2. Maybe the money should go to getting him out of my hair!

Shop for clothes, shoes and if there is anything left stuff for my classroom. I doubt there would be much left though, knowing how crazy I can go with $500!

I actually just did...as part of our union contract.

It's being saved for Christmas spending.

I always have a plan for any extra money like that. My LPDC stipend and mentoring stipend become the vacation fund.
