My favorite place is a local place, and local joints probably take number two and three as well. But here are some chains that I like: Red Lobster...I hate seafood, but the biscuits...:woot: Ryan's...I don't really like meat, so a buffet offering ten starchy sides: I'm there! O' Charley's...dipping their rolls in the cheesy potato soup...heaven. As far as fast food is concerned, I love me some White Castle.
1. Olive Garden 2. Red Lobster 3. El Conquistador (a local Mexican food place in my hometown) 4. Cotton Patch 5. Chicken Express
1. Chili's 2. Macaroni Grill 3. Panera Bread 4. Mellow Mushroom The rest of my fav's are local to my town
I don't like the food from most chain restaurants, but on the bright side they usually have Braille menus, which always makes my day. I like local restaurants where the owner is the chef and you can taste the love they put into their cooking. There's this one local café that I love going to with my wife and son on Sunday afternoons.
1. 5 Guys (for burgers - first time had them in Baltimore, and they have since opened in our area in NJ!) 2. Cheeseburger in Paradise. 3. Across the Border (Mexican) 4. Panera Bread 5. Olive Garden (but just for the salad and breadsticks)
I can tell you, but they are all pretty much local... 1. Blue Crab Grille in DE - amazing seafood and steak - very classy food but laid back casual atmosphere. 2. Homegrown in DE - also fancy-casual dining - have a lot of vegetarian and organic foods so it all tastes very fresh and natural but so delicious. 3. Borders Tex Mex Cafe - this is a small chain - I think there are maybe 5 more nationwide. Awesome mexican and cajun food. 4. Taste of India 5. Iron Hill Brewery
I like... Jason's Deli (salad bar!!!) Ruby Tuesday (turkey mini's and salad bar) Old Town Spaghetti Store (local Italian place with great food) Logan's Roadhouse (rolls and great chicken) That's all I can think of!!
Hmmmmm.... Sweet Tomatoes or Souper Salad (love both!) Spaghetti Warehouse Chili's Panera Bread Taco Casa
Hmmm, restaurants, restaurants...... Yes, I remember that word. Had to do with something before I had three rambunctious boys under ten years of age. Like McDonald's with tablecloths and silverware or something, right?
Oh, I remember Mellow Mushroom from when my husband and I eloped to North Carolina. It was good! I hadn't heard of it before and haven't seen one since.
3Sons, Since my girls left home, I have not eaten at a McDonalds. I now only order the type of pizza I like. That is one of the perks of the empty nest--eating out where ever you want. Your time will come.
Mostly local, but local all over the USA! 1. Frontier- iconic Albuquerque restaurant, across the street from the University of New Mexico. Fabulous green chili stew and sweet rolls! It only closes from 1-5am! 2. Cafe Society- Memphis, Tennessee...one of those places that is never crowded, but awesome food and wine. Filet of lamb to die for! 3. Garcia's - local chain of New Mexican food. Yummy sopapaillas! 4. Milton's- Old greasy-spoon place on the old route 66 in Albuquerque. Yummy gringo breakfasts, as well as awesome New Mexican food! 5. Buffalo Wild Wings- Many-a happy hours after work spent there.
When my two sons were under the age of ten they accompanied my husband and me to all restaurants (except very high end) They learned to sit, use their manners, and always tried what mom and dad ordered. To this day they thank me for taking them. They eat all, and I mean all, types of food. I felt that allowing my sons to learn at an early age how to act in public was an important part of growing up. Also, I rarely eat at chain restaurants. I like the adventure of trying new places.
Most of mine are local restaurants But I do love the soup and salads from Panera Chipotle is good too!
My Dh and I eat quite abit of Subway. A favorite real restaurant is Ez's. They have great Caesar salad and foccacia bread. It is one of my favorite meals. We also like Chilis and a place called Longhorn Grill (burgers) and Babe's (burgers). Since we can't grill in the apartment, we go out for burgers alot.
Olive Garden Red Lobster Ruby Tuesdays Fuddruckers Mi Cabana (local mexican restaurant) Honorable Mention: Cook Out
We must live very close to one another. I have worked at the Old Town Spaghetti Store twice in my lifetime and I still love the food. But don't eat the canoli, they are frozen and gross!
Mario's...local Italian, incredible chicken marsala. Haven't found anything like it anywhere else. I wish I knew their secret! Weck's - Serves a great breakfast, you can get a huge plate of papas (hashbrowns) mixed with your choice of ingredients, you can eat and eat and eat and still not feel like you've made a dent in it. Their green chile is not too hot that it overpowers, just right. Dion's - Not quite fast food, but not sit down. Yummy pizza and salads, and ranch dressing not to be missed. They just opened one down the street from my school, woo hoo! La Provence - I don't know how ABQ is lucky enough to have such amazing French restaurants opened by the same French chef, but the food AND the atmosphere is delightful. Cervantes - Best New Mexican food in town, hands down.
LOVE Mellow Mushroom! There's one in Hilton Head Island, SC. My husband and I are heading down there in two weeks. I can't wait to go there! Thanks for reminding me!
I eat out way too much. This list is in no particular order. 1. The Cheesecake Cafe 2. East Side Mario's 3. The Keg 4. Earl's 5. Boston Pizza
Has anyone tried Genghis Grill? It's a chain and they just opened one here; we were taken there for teacher appreciation day by the administration. It's pretty good! Mongolian grill style. Yum.

No chains for us. La Villa (local Mexican place up on the island) Sichuan Fortune House (the eggplant pancakes with garlic sauce are out of this world!) Big Bear Diner (the biggest breakfasts I've ever seen)
