    Your definitions are what I'm used to although I can't bring myself to say "gravy" even though probably 75% of my family still says it! I remember when i was a kid we would go visit an Italian aunt and no matter when we came to visit she would say, "you hungry? I made gravy" :lol:

    I'm not Italian, just love Italian food! And we call it sauce, not gravy.:D

    :lol: The funny part is... I've never had marinara with seafood... but my grandma wouldn't let us call plain red sauce marinara!

    And I never had Sunday gravy until I was an adult... Sunday supper at Grandma's was waffles and vanilla ice cream.

    I just put parm on my pesto shrimp pasta. Anyone freaking out about that? lol.

    My husband does it also. I HATE it!!! He knows not to do it around me at all, but I'm still trying to find a way to convince him to quit. It's hard, because almost everyone he works with does it.
