Some books I really love (like all the Francis books and anything by Rosemary Wells) are not actually the kids' favorites. Here are a few books my kids have responded to more than others-- and I like them too. List yours.

Green Eggs and Ham- Dr. Suess
Happy Birthday Moon and Moongame by Frank Asch
The Story About Ping by Robert McCloskey (I think)
    Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?
Kitten's First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes

Found out today that some of my kids don't like the Dr. Seuss books! Burst my bubble! But the Kevin Henkes books (Chrysanthemum) and the Miss Bindergarten series are usually a hit.

Oh Thank you! I don't like Dr. Seuss either. Annoying is a good word!

There are so many favorites. Let me think.

-Frank Asch books are a hit with my kids too! I also have Happy Birthday Moon and Moongame, but also Mooncake and Skyfire.
-Tikki Tikki Tembo is an oldie, but goodie
-Anything by Robert Munsch. I must have 15 books and they love them all and search for them in the library every week.
    -Little Quack books
    -The Mitten by Jan Brett
-Stellaluna (they like the book, but love the DVD)
-Diane Degroat books such as "Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet", "Roses are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink," "Good Night, Sleep Tight, Don't let the bed Bugs Bite." There are tons of them in the series.
-Alphabet Mystery, Alphabet Adventure, and Alphabet to the Rescue are favorites by Audrey Wood. I usually read them at the beginning of the year to introduce the alphabet.
    -Is You Mama a Llama

Thats what I can think of right now, but I know there are MORE.

The "There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some ...." are both of our favorites :) King Bidgood's in the Bathtub was a big hit as well. They still love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom even though we used it at the beginning of the year.

I get lost in the kids section of the library, as it is so interesting. You might ask the librarian for suggestions.
