    Just curious.
What's something you're really looking forward to for this upcoming school year?
It can have to do with your job, family, children, whatever...

    Me?
Having a bigger classroom! I have had a tiny one and this year I've moved to a much bigger one! Not the biggest I've had, but much bigger than last two years.

    How about you?

Being part of a brand new still-being-built school with all the newest gadgets and technology. Of course, I will be in a portable until the school is completed - not really looking forward to that. But it will be different.

    A lot of things...

    - Having a larger classroom
    - Having a blessed group of students who will hopefully meet and exceed standards
    - Having the new Florida museum I put together (it's a large display in my classroom)
    - Being involved in the science inquiry unit all year!
    - Having a new website for the parents and students!

Where do you work in Florida? There's a new school near me being built with new gadgets and technology (I'm in the Tampa Bay area...).

The biggest excitement for me this year is changing grades. I am excited about making the change and facing new challenges. (Ok, so I'm a little nervous, too! I've only taught 4th grade, it's forcing me to move out of my comfort zone, but I like that.)
Also, I received several grants this year so I will have lots of goodies coming into my classroom.

I am excited that I will have walls in my classroom this year. I teach an open concept school but Kindergarten is moving down the hall and they are putting in walls for us!! This also means that I should have fewer students (hopefully!!).
I am also excited to see my students from last year! I think it will be fun to see them walking down the hall to first grade! I've never been in the same school for a second year (only taught two years) so I'm excited that I can start the year knowing how the school operates and knowing the staff!

School: due to a change in departmentalization I will get to teach Lang. Arts, Math, and Social Studies. Also, first time in five years I am in the same room, same building!

Home: enjoying my daughter's senior year of high school.

    Finally having my own classroom!
Being a new teacher at a school, I'm looking forward to getting to know the other staff members and all the students.

Happiest about my grade level and/or classroom not being changed. Our District was in a "mix it up" mood this year and made some rather startling changes with grade levels, classrooms, etc.

I'm excited about moving to a new and smaller school with less kids per class. (I just hope it will be ready soon)

Danny'sNanny- It's not too bad getting new roommates. I just had a reunion with my college roommates last weekend and I graduated in '92. When I went to school, I didn't know any of them and we are all the best of friends. (there are 9 of us) Enjoy it!!!!

School- moving up with some of my students from last year (taught 2nd last year and moving up to 3rd), beginning grad school (on the way to better pay!!), taking on more responsibility in my district (became a district project director for a service learning grant), and starting the year in the same school two years in a row!!

Home- enjoying my new car:), preparing for my sister's 2nd child (due in March if all goes well), celebrating my 25th bday, and hopefully finding a condo or townhouse of my very own to move into by next summer :)

I can tell by what everyone is saying that it is going to be a good year!!! :)

Wow, Jennifoo, you can break in the puppy and the hubby at the same time! Just kidding, I love dogs and my husband is the greatest; I just couldn't resist. Congratulations.
