If you didn't have to depend on the salary of the job or whether it was in demand or not & you were doing it solely for the pure enjoyment/intrest of it, what career would you really want to have?
    -----------------------
I was always interested in anthropology ever since I took a couple of courses when I 1st began college. I'd probably get a Ph.D. in that & be an anthropologist working in a museum somewhere!

Well, I love to travel... or rather would love to travel...lol:lol: and I love to eat. So my dream job would be to travel around the world and find and report on the best cuisine I found around the world. Oh if only dreams came true:p.

Same here. Teaching is my second career and I couldn't be happier. Also, I was meant to be a mom, it's really my greatest accomplishment. :)

Me too, I love teaching and my school-- however, it would be wonderful that along with a fantastic salary the problems also went away.

But I would also enjoy being making movies!

Ever since I was in Kindergarten myself, I wanted to be a teacher. I have also always wanted to be a mom. Now...I'm mom to 4 wonderful little kiddos. I love what I am doing.

Be a musician, as in composing songs.

    and

Teach kids that have a physical special need but a "normal" learning ability, and in a school that would be directed for them, but that also accepted/included "normal" kids. I don't know if such a place exists, but if I was a millionaire, I would create one.

I had planned to be a teacher my whole life, but then my junior year of college I changed my major to musical theatre. Well, my sophomore year I changed back to education. So, if I could do anything, I would probably be a singer or do musical theatre. I love education, but music is my passion. I also have a degree in vocal music education.

I believe I was meant to be a song writer. I write a lot of songs, but have no way to get them out in the market. I am not a performer or even a real singer, but I am a songwriter. It would be neat if money were no object to be able to market my songs!!

Mom is the best job. I really like to take pix. I would love to do photography. If I could even do it for the local paper, that would be cool. I've also done some powerpoint slide shows for some family & love doing that.

bonneb..My cousins in a local band...they pretty much write their own stuff... but the open for some pretty big country stars!! They are dreaming of a contract...when they get one...I told him I want to be his fanclub manager!!!

I would own a book store - so I could sit around and read all day :) get the best books first, and talk to other people about books. I would hosts many different types of books clubs - mystery clubs, historical books clubs, trashy book clubs etc.... I am the mother of 2 teenagers daughters so my mom job is in a constant flux of love/hate :) If you have teenagers, you know what I mean.

But if I couldn't be a teacher I would love to be an dog trainer, or run a shelter. I also like books. Hey maybe run a doggie daycare/ book store ahhahahaha.

If money were no object I wouldn't work at all and just be a stay at home mom 24/7. Other than that, I'd do something with music. Probably singing.

 me too - I often wish my girls 13 & 17 had flashing neon signs above their heads - "Hi I am your normal loving daughter" or "Hi I am moody as heck and anything you say will be wrong and make me cry/mad/angry" or "Hi I am just plain crazy today - so don't even bother"

We would be enormously rich if we could invent something like that!:D

Back to the topic at hand--it's interesting how many of moms think of that as our most important job--I wonder how many dads would even consider that?

open a bookstore/coffeshop with lots of books, live music, and good java

open a mom and pop restaraunt.... mom would cook and pop would eat...LOL

something where I could help others but not be confined to a building or a cubicle

    Lots of great ideas!

I love the ideas of interior designer, dog trainer or anything else to do with dogs - maybe a doggie day care!

My "baby" is all grown up now so my full time mom job is coming to a part time status - you know what I mean! But full time at home mom was my greatest career and most successful achievement!

Being a teacher is a career I adore! Most days, I love coming to work.

I'd love to teach overseas, maybe in a DOD school. Ideally, I think I like to be a librarian in a school or (even better) work in a children's hospital and work in a library for the long-term patients. That is primarily a volunteer postition around here.

I have such a hodge podge of skills. I don't excell at them, but I'm pretty good. I can sing and dance. I'm creative and nurturing. What other job allows me to use my talents and get paid?? I love what I do and even if I won the mega millions lottery, I'd still go to work every day.
