Yes, I do! And my fascination w/ him just started literally a week or two ago, but I got addicted as fast as the speed of light! Yes, I recall seeing him on TV at the '10 Olympics, maybe even '06 too, but I nev thought much of him & I've always liked figure skating anyway. It all started when I stumbled upon his reality show (Be Good Johnny Weir) on Logo TV & he seems so real, likable, down-to-earth, & intelligent w/ a good sense of humor. He knows Russian, French, maybe more. I could go on. Yes, I think he looks hot too! If I could meet him in person right now, I'd jump at the chance. I'm jealous of his agent Tara, who he spends a ton of time w/. I've looked up numerous videos of his TV appearances, interviews, performances. I just ordered his autobiography that he wrote & I've nev read a book about any other celeb in my life. He's fearless & doesn't care what the world thinks. If anyone knows how I can view the VIDEO, not audio, of his interview w/ Howard Stern, let me know! (I could care less about Stern normally.) Glad you like this thread.
Caesar, I've had many, many literary crushes--you're definitely not alone--though nobody from the Harry Potter books. Celebrity crushes of the moment-- James McAvoy Shia Labeouf (even though he is quite a bit younger than me and technically not really handsome, there is just something very magnetic about him, he has really good onscreen chemistry) Matthew McFadyen (okay, I've only seen him in Pride & Prejudice but to me, he is the ultimate Mr. Darcy!)
I've known people who are now celebrities. There are celebrities whose work I admire. There are 'real world people ' who I admire even more. Do I have a 'crush' on any of them? No. The reality is that I'm not going to interact with any of these people socially...and if I did ( and I have been at social functions with professional athletes ), it's generally a 'meet and greet ' for them, not an opportunity to find the girl of their dreams...although in some cases,with some women, they will find an easy hook up...the only real crush, if you insist on calling it that, is my dh...and that's a REAL relationship...crushes where you wish a fictional character is real, or wishing someone whose lifestyle choices make them not compatible, or thinking that somehow you are going to hit it off with someone who isnt in an way accessible to you is not reality...but like who you want...that's the fun of dreaming. Dream on.

I had lots of crushes on celebrities. My mom said I had a crush on Peter Brady when I was a kid. In school I seemed to have a crush on my lab partner in science class (I think his name was Paul) LOL Oh, and and the boy in drama club who always wore great cologne. I think all the girls had crushes on him!
My first crush was Derek Longmuir from the Bay City Rollers. It doesn't help that I've rediscovered all that BCR stuff on FB, lol. I also adored Ira Angustain from The White Shadow. He was one of my FB friends! Umm..so was his wife, lol. They have a 4 yr old daughter, and they are ministers in California. He's still so very handsome! I unfriended both of them some time ago.
Honestly, I was rather surprised to learn of your Johnny Weir obsession, given your strong support of traditional gender roles. Weir's single went to #1 in Japan, btw. As for me, I've never really gone in much for celebrities -- although there are a few who are attractive, I can't really develop a crush through scripted lines on a screen.
Yeah, I surprised myself by the way I've been so intrigued by this person so suddenly. Yes, I know about his song going #1 in Japan. I like the tune btw. I even ordered his book, which I can't wait to read. The only other time in my life I've liked a celeb this much was when I was a pre-teen.
