The moment you drive from your school, what do you do the rest of the night?

I'm off from work at 2:30.

    - 3:00 - Arrive home to tend to my dog who's been sectioned off in the sunroom all day.

    - Stay home the rest of the night usually. I eat dinner pretty quickly after I get home, get on the computer & go to all my favorites sites, watch some TV. My bf comes over quite a bit & we relax.

    - But, if I go back out, I may go to the gym, do a little shopping, go to the grocery store, or every once in a while, maybe a weekday dinner out &/or movie w/ my bf. Then we come back to my house & relax.

    - Between 4:00 & 5:00, I feed my dog. If I'm not home during those hrs, another family member does it.

My bf & I currently have opposite work schedules a few days out of the week, but we see each other quite often considering.

M-Th & Sun, I'm in bed anytime between 10pm & midnight. Fri & Sat, sky's the limit! I've been know to go to bed at 3am every once in a while.

My schedule as a pemanent sub is a little different. 3 days a week I go to school ( work )get out at 3 and drive to my other job.

On the other two days when I'm not at school I do the 9-5 routine.

Usually, I come home, prepare dinner, do laundry, and occasionally read, watch tv or am on here.
    I am sleeping by 11:30
I don't even call people any more..... I don't feel like exerting my energy to speak...

Most days I leave school around 5:30-6:00
I get home and make dinner
My fiance is usually just getting home around the same time as me (6:00-6:30)
We eat dinner and then try to do the dishes immediately...if we wait to long we won't do them and they'll still be there in the morning!
By about 8:00 I'm ready to collapse and I'm usually in my pj's
I watch tv and go on the computer for a little while, but try to be in bed by 10

--Pick up dinner at the cafe and bring it back to my dorm
--Eat and check email, websites I work at, news
--Nap for a few hours (I can't seem to function properly unless I do this)
--Wake up around 8pm and begin working on lessons for the upcoming days

--Shower and get clothes picked out for the next day around 11:30pm
--Clean up the room (I'm odd :p) and get the bed ready for sleeping
--Go to bed anywhere from 11:00pm to 1:00pm---wake up at 6:45am

I'm lazy. School gets out at 3:00. Then I tutor one of my kid's until 3:30, which is the time we can leave anyway. Sometimes I don't leave until 4:00 or 5:00. I drive home, about a 20 minute drive. Then I waste time online, talk to my husband, or play with the animals. My cats have been sick, so I've just been taking care of them lately. I either make dinner or get some frozen that can cook easily. I'm too tired this first year of teaching to cook every day. Then I lay on the couch and watch TV from about 7-9, grading papers sometimes. I try to go to bed between 10-11.

LEAVE SCHOOL AROUND 4:45 OR 5:00PM (UNLESS BEHIND ON GRADES)
    DRIVE HOME
UNWIND BY TALKING TO MY MOM AND FIANCEE ON MY DAY
    PLAY WITH MY DOGS
    EAT DINNER
    TAKE A SHOWER
WATCH TV OR SURF THE NET FOR A WHILE
    PASSED OUT BY 10:00PM....

MY LIFE HAS BECOME PLAIN AND SIMPLE....BUT SOMEHOW I AM CONTENT WITH IT. WEEKEND ARE ALL MINE THOUGH...I SLEEP IN, GO TO THE MOVIES WITH MY FIANCEE OR FRIENDS...SHOP...ETC N E THING THAT GETS MY MIND OFF BEING A TEACHER FOR JUST A BIT.

    School ends at 2:48.

Extra help until about 3:30 or so.

Pick up the kids at the sitter. Let the dog out.
Help them finish homework or let them play until:
Monday: Julia and Brian have Religion from 5-6:15
Tues, Thurs: Kira has speech from 5-5:30
    Assorted drop offs/pickups on playdates.
    Get dinner together.

    Dinner when Peter gets home.
    Dishes.
    More homework/play/ my own grading

Baths for the girls (Brian likes his in the morning) I don't have to be in the room, but I like being on the 2nd floor so I can listen to be sure they're OK.

Julia and Kira go to bed at 8, so I spend 15-20 minutes getting them ready and snuggling.

Brian is in bed anywhere from 9-9:30; more snuggles

I tend to be in bed by about 10.

I get on the computer either before or after dinner, then usually between the girls' baths and their bedtime.

My routine sounds a lot like everyone else's...
I get home from school around 4 or 4:30 and I let the dogs out.
Eat dinner around 4:30 or 5.
Watch T.V., surf internet, chat on the phone, do some chores, school work
Go to bed around 10 or 11 (although I aim to be in bed by 9 it rarely happens!)

Wow, I can't wait until I can actually have some free time at home!

    M-Th:

Sometime between 5:30 & 6:30: Leave work, walk to train station, wait for train. Spend 1.5 hours on train reading, writing doing homework, planning schedules / meetings for the week, checking email and favorite websites, sometimes napping.

Sometime between 7:30-8:15: Arrive at train station, walk to car, drive home.

Sometime between 7:45-8:30 p.m.: Arrive home, feed dog and cats, let animals outside.
    Either:
    a) change into pj's and plop down on the couch, maybe heat up a frozen dinner or order some take-out
    b) meet girlfriend at bar around the corner for what's left of happy hour
    c) walk dog over to girlfriend's house, or have her walk her dogs over to mine for doggy play date

10-11 p.m., husband usually arrives home (he works nights), we chat for a few minutes and then I'm in bed so I can be up and out the door by 5 or 6 the next morning.

    Every other Friday:

    Leave work between 1 & 3:30 p.m.
Drive to university where I'm working on my doctorate
Park & eat a quick dinner
Go to class until about 10 p.m.
Home around 11, straight to bed to wake up for early Saturday a.m. class.

Sunday: OFF! OFF! OFF! Sleep in & hang around in pj's. I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm working this hard NOW so that I can have more free time LATER.

Loved your post! After an extremely bad day of teaching, I went out and bought a bottle of my favorite rum and had some with juice (easy and simple). Nice way to unwind :)

If I could change anything about the week, I wish we had 3 day weekends ALL THE TIME (& only worked T-F). Whenever I have Mondays off due to holidays, I can really feel the difference w/ that extra day off.

Many times, it's hard for me to go to bed at a reasonable hour on worknights. I usually am in bed between 11pm & midnight. I'm such a night owl, I have to tell myself that even though I feel like staying up till 1 or 2 am, my body really needs the rest.

I get home from school between 8:00 - 8:30, scarf down some dinner, and hop in the shower. After that, I may check my email, or read posts on this forum, and make a phone call. Then I try to get to bed by 10:30 to be up again at 5:30! I haven't turned on the TV since the school year started! I'm a new 5th grade teacher by the way.
