On correcting the behavior of children in public...
You might be a teacher if your firm Please stop talking actually makes the group of teenagers behnd you stop talking, and you evidently even intimidate them enough that they get up and leave the next time they feel the urge to talk.
(True story) It had been a REALLY long week at school and I had enough of the talking! :)

You might be a teacher if you're husband does something silly or without thinking and you say "That was inappropriate. How could you have handled that better?"

...your husband gets mad at you for talking to him like your student and not your husband. Well, perhaps if he didn't ACT like my student...

You use "parent teacher confrence" talk with your spouse when you are discussing how your child is doing in school

Well, I am concerned that your child is not reaching his full potential. Your child seems to be easily distracted, are there any suggestions you have to help your child focus better in class.....

To which your spouse tells you to knock it off....... and speak normally!

I actually taught my kids the walk right thing applies to the store, sidewalk, etc this summer. Then my husband was a little irritated with me when I was enforcing that RULE when we were on vacation.

...you can expect a gift for every gift-giving holiday that says has something to do with being a teacher (calendar, plaque, pin, keychain), and it doesn't have to come from your students...!

...when you actually read the placards at all the museums.
...you can tell age of a child just by looking at them.
...you have a hard time buying your own children toys unless they have an educational purpose.
...you wear the half empty bottle of walmart perfume that some student gave you.

...when you tell everyone to "cover your mouth" after they sneeze or cough
...when you spell a word by saying the letter sounds
...when you remind people to say "thank you" and "please"
    (I used to teach k)
Now I always find paperclips in my pockets & purse, and I feel lost when I don't have a red pen!

This one is me. I have told my kids (at school) I was changing my name and not telling them what it was. They didn't get it, but I loved to watch their face when I tell them that.

...when a beat-up, old car with the music blasting and teenagers screaming pulls next to you at a stop light. You are afraid to look over for your own safety. Then someone yells-'Hey-Mrs. H. it's me, so and so-remember me? Which now brings a smile to my face.

If . . . all of your friends are having babies and they know to expect books from you, no matter what they put on the registry.

If . . . you were genuinely upset that they cut many of the classroom scenes when they made the Harry Potter books into movies.

-If you're looking for a pen and the every pen you find has red ink.

-If grading papers and updating gradebooks seems like the best use of unexpected free time.

-If you stop at a drugstore to get a soda and end up spending 25 minutes in the school supply/ cheap toy section trying to see if there's anything you can use in a lesson plan.

-If you're with your friends (college friends in my case) and they're telling wild stories about their adventures and all of yours revolve around students and/ or parents (So SHE tells ME that her little ANGEL couldn't have POSSIBLY....)

-If you search the tv guide looking for something educational you can record and use for class.
