Help. I am drowning in blackberries. My freezer is full. I plan to make jam, pies, smoothies.

What else can I do with blackberries?

I make an incredible cobbler...but it isn't your average cobbler...it is like cinnamon rolls with blackberries. My son asks for it to be his birthday cake every year.

I only put 1/4 in pan to melt. I put the other 1/4 in the syrup mixture. I also put about 1/8 cup of crushed blackberries in the syrup. Also I don't do the sprinkle sugar on it.

Send them my way? Just kidding....sort of.

I have been making peanut butter and berry sandwiches or toast lately instead of with jelly. You get the flavor without the sugar.

Oh, yes, my DH is making wine and a liquor. If any of you can make it over, please come, I will even help pick. This is really easy picking. Our line fence on one side is all berries, and along the creek is another batch. The creek ones are not ripe. I hapd planned to can peaches, but I will use berries this year.

Only half of the bushes are ripe. You can sit in a chair, pick for 1/2 hour, never move, and get a gallon. I hate to see them go to waste.

i am so jealous! Wish I could just snap my fingers and be there! I love blackberry cobbler and blackberry jam. My bushes died-well, they never really took root...

If you really have more than you can use, try an add on freecycle. I have seen a lot of those this summer - people offering produce or plants they just have too much of.

Silverspoon, that is an excellent idea. I have been wondering how I can connect with someone who really wants these. I have a close friend coming over Saturday with family. They will wipe out the current ripe ones.
