I am so excited, I am going to cry!!! According to my lovely countdown, I have 23 days, 8 hours, and 56 minutes till I say hello to my new classroom. I love being a brand new teacher, I can't sleep now...What's going to happen the night before. I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I KNOW, I am a dork..oh well
I got my first teaching job almost an hour from my house. I was sitting at home when I got the job offer and I immediately loaded my son up and drove back up just so I could look at my classroom. Of course, gas was quite a bit cheaper then. Just reading your post made me all excited to go back to my classroom!
Your not a dork! I am excited for you! :2up: After 20 some odd years, I still look forward to prepping and planning but usually I am so tired by the end of Teacher work week I sleep just fine! But I am old too!
I am a first year teach as well. I am super excited!!I have been researching, organizing, and planning!
Yay! Congratulations! I was excited like that last year when I was a brand new teacher. I think it is completely normal, but then again, I'm quite a dork too :lol:
Congradualtions!!! YOu are not a dork!! I look forward to coming back myself. I have already been back in the classroom rehanging posters and pulling things back out of storage. It gave me the inspiration to get motivated even more for the coming year. This summer has passed so quickly. I have already placed all my notes in PDF format which I teach 8th grade science and place the notes on a smart board. I also complete my tests for each objective. Good luck to all this coming year. Have fun and inspire those kiddy's.
I'm also excited. There are so many new things I want to try this year. I feel more prepared this year.
I still remember the excitement of my first class - when i still had lotsa energy. I still get excited and have fun preparing the room for the year, i just work a little slower now.
I am going home for the week this coming week because and I get to see my classroom. I feel like a child before their own first day of school. I love school and LOVE LOVE LOVE MY JOB!!! I love this site, because I feel good and not like a dork! Thanks guys
I'm in your boat! I went in yesterday because my room was rented out for the week (last week) for a camp. It was the first day I could arrange and rearrange things. I made a scale map of my room, the desks, etc, so I can fool around with the arrangements at home. Dork out, I say!
If you are a dork, so am I! I still get excited every summer planning for next year, and I'm going into my 6th year of teaching. You are going to LOVE third grade...its so much fun! Your first year may be stressful at times, but thats why you have us to vent to and lean on. Enjoy celebrating!!!
What a fabulous attitude you have! It's positively contagious! After 15 years, I'm always excited at the start of a new year, too, and I always cry at the end of an old one. Kim
I'm starting my first year, too, and am so excited. So if you're a dork so am I! I can't wait to get started, but at the same time, I am incredibly nervous about starting!
