I just got word that another of the teachers in my school has died. Bernie lost his battle with cancer this morning. He had been in hospice since spring. Bernie was a retired cop, and a founding faculty member of my school. His sense of humor, his patience, and his gentleness will be greatly missed.
I'm sorry. Even losses we know are coming hit hard. I hope this coming school year will be loss-free. Your school community needs a break from grief!

Alice, hugs to you. It is sad even if expected. We have just lost 2 of our elderly in the last 2 weeks. Overwhelming.

Thanks guys. God willing, this will be our last school funeral for quite some time to come. It's staff member number six since Labor Day.
