I just heard back about the lead teacher and summer camp assistant positions through Health World Outreach Education. The hiring manager said that after reading my cover letter E-Mail and viewing my "impressive" résumé, they want to meet with me. They're going to be hiring for both lead teachers and camp assistants at the camp site that's 30 minutes away from me.

The camp runs for 2 months, 9 - Noon 5 days a week. There's a differente ducational theme each week revolving around science, health, and nature. Camp is for kids in Pre-K thru 12th grade.

Let me tell you... I really had to play up my cover letter on this one! I was truthful, of course, but I emphasized EVERYTHING and matched it against the qualifications as best I could. I really wanted to make sure I could get in for an interview.

My mom says I should save my extcitement for when I actually get it, but I told her it's so hard just to get an interview that I can't contain myself over this.

I had JUST gotten the E-Mail from them when I posted about this. They want me to contact them back via E-Mail or phone as to what day(s) are best for me to come in and do the interview.

I haven't responded yet, but being that I'm unemployed any day of the week will work for me.

I'm going to be down that way on the 24th in the late morning hours so I'm wondering if I should schedule it Tuesday since I'ma lready going to be down that way anyhow.

Good luck...and it never hurts to ask about tuesday. It might be good for them, and if not, then you'll just have to drive there a second time. Totally worth the effort, if you ask me.

You certainly did the right thing to match your cover letter to the job description. I am doing that now for a great job with the Federal Government. Some agencies look for specific words in the cover letter, so if you include those words, you have a better chance. I know that big agencies, like the state and federal government, use computors to screen applications.

I just got back to her, via E-Mail, and am going to see about the 24th. If that won't be good then I told her we could work a time out on the 23rd or 25th.

Because she was a former member here that signed up under a different name. The first time she was a member here she didn't follow the forum rules.

She seemed very honest and transparent (in her discussions about herself). It's a little surprising that it took 1,599 for people to figure out they had seen her before.
