Hello! I teach K-1 in a multi-age public charter school in Florida. I am looking forward to my 2nd year teaching at the school. I previously taught a 2-3 emotionally behaviorally disabled class my first year teaching! Great experiences helping to mold me into the best teacher I can be for my kids.
When I student taught I had multi age classes of grades 1-2 and 3-4. They were some of my favorite classes!
This will be my first year teaching 1st/2nd combination class and we are presenting a day in the life of our class to parents this week to get them excited about what will be happening. HELP -would any of you be willing to share a sample daily schedule and possibly an activity I could possibly engage parents in that would mimic what we will be doing? ALSO - do any of you use the DAILY FIVE?? I have looked at this and think it is awesome - trying to figure out how to incorporate it into this 2-grade schedule and our curriculum.
I have a multi-age 1/2 classroom and use the Daily 5 (and CAFE)- it works GREAT! It is very flexible with multi-age classrooms (one of the Sisters teaches in a K-2 room).
