I just got the notice that my latest project was funded! The project was for two kits form Little Bits. It was my first time to order something not from their site. It worked great, though. If you haven't tried Donors Choose yet, you need to. They've taken really good care of me. :)

Great news! I love when that happens, I have 1 on there right now that I have my fingers crossed will be funded this summer. I think it's a great reminder how there are still generous people out there! ;)

I always wonder how this works. Is it usually someone you know who funds it? I was looking at musical instruments since our school no longer does music class.

I had my first and only project funded . . . but I missed some deadlines for the thank you package and am on the naughty list. We missed 26 days of school for snow that year. They were understanding at first, then not. I feel like a bum. Who plans for missing 26 days of school?

Sometimes companies fund things for a certain region or a certain subject. I had 2 funded by Starbucks last year out of the blue.

It took about a month for this project to be funded. I've had others take almost the entire time. Most of my donors were individuals, but a cafe called Tangerine Cafe in NC funded about half of it.

A couple of years ago I had a thank you package go missing. This was during the summer, so there was no way to do it again. They were nice about it, but I took a big hit in my Thank You punctuality. This is my 12th or 13th project to be funded. I had one that was almost completely funded when a couple chose it to put on a list of 10 projects for their guests to fund instead of purchasing gifts for the couple. (It was a $250 donation!) I had one project that was funded by about 35 or so donors, each of whom gave between $1 and $10. It was for a class set of Little House on the Prairie books and lots of people wanted to help make it happen, they just didn't have a lot of money. I really feel blessed to have so many people out there willing to help my kids!!
