Back in April I write about my husband's school closing and him accepting a diocese transfer to a school an hour away. We just found out that the diocese has a position open in town. The school is a 10 minute walk from our house. Would you contact them and ask if it's possible to be transferred there or would you leave it alone?

What would it hurt to ask?

I guess it wouldn't but I think he feels bad that the other P may be left short handed.

I've felt this way when I considered leaving, but I really think principals can find a new teacher pretty easily now. Three people have decided to leave my school already since the summer started!

Yes! I definitely think ask! That would be so much less stress than an hour commute and that's something!

I would ask. Think of how much time he would save over the course of a single year!

Ask. Think of it this way-there is a teacher who is 10 minutes from that other school who wants that job too. You're helping.

So he called today. Both P would have to agree to it. Unfortunately 1 P is on vacation so it's going to be at least 2 week before we hear anything.

Two weeks may feel like a long time, but luckily he knows he has a job either way :)
