Man oh man.... I e-mailed a P on Friday regarding an LTS at his high school. The instructions said to e-mail Dr. xxxxxxx but I wrote Dear Mr. xxxxxxxx. :(

So much for getting an interview.... :(:(:(:(

Not necessarily. I would venture to say that he gets called that often.

Now, an awkward situation would be if Dr. xxxxxxxx is a lady. But you used "his high school", so I'm guessing you know for a fact it's a woman.

Yeah, I don't think this would be a horrible thing. Unless he is super- sensitive and insecure. Just be sure to say dr. if you meet him!

He's a guy.... so I didn't mess up in that capacity... I would hate to lose out on a chance to get called just for saying mister instead of Dr.

Don't sweat it. I'm sure that it is not the first time that has occurred. Most people read the salutation quickly, so he may not even have noticed.
