    Hi,

What is your favorite writing program? Tell me what you like about the writing program you use.

I am looking into different writing programs for my students.

We have used "Four Square" Method.

Thanks for all the input!

Four square and 6-traits aren't really a writing program. They are tools to help with writing. My district utilizes both of these.

Lucy Calkins has a writing program that is being discussed in another thread. Might be something to look at.

We use our Treasure's series for our writing program. I think that it is too much writing, but when broken down into a few key pieces, it isn't so bad.

We use Step Up to Writing, Shurley, Imagine It!, DYOT (Do your own thing), and anything else that the teachers want to attempt to use. Did I mention we're not consistant with teaching writing methods and strategies?

There's really NO time to hone in on this skill between reading, language arts, math, specials, and cursive.

So, I'm looking for something to start a writer's workshop time too....albeit 3 days out of the week if I'm lucky, 2 would be heaven!
