Today, I signed an agenda... very, very fast. It was of a boy who was at the read-a-thon last night. He wanted to know when the next one was, and his mom had a few questions in the agenda, nice ones, of course.

Well, I always feel I need to answer questions, so man... I started writing, and my handwriting gradually got bigger and bigger. I was writing quips like- "Sometime around November 17th, I'm not sure" and "There's always next time" and "We have our next one coming up in a few weeks."

My handwriting was horrible, to say the least- this large, horrid scrawl.

I then stated, "I am so sorry I wrote so big in your agenda, and in Crayola marker on top of that."

He then goes, "Umm, like a second-grader?"

I had to grin. You gotta love fourth graders.

Yes! I teach first grade and I always seem to reply in large traditional manuscript. I then look at it and think why did I write like that! I am so used to writing big that I even do it to parents!

The thing is, the kid who said it is one of the sweetest, nicest boys. He just says random things at times that make you go... ?!?!?! I love this year's class, though; they keep me on my toes. Sometimes a few of them speak before they think.
