(gasp!!!) Historical fiction is GORGEOUS. I also love the biography one. :) What are you going to have the students do with these sheets? Will it be for writing the words, publishing, or something else? I read your post and got a half-idea on that so far. :)

Wow! I love these... I am wanting to incorporate some centers into my class this year and I was wondering how you use these. I don't know how to start! If anyone has any suggestions on how to do this, it would be great...

Sorry to hijack :hijack: your thread!

It seems like your post, caslan, goes with the theme really well and will benefit all of us! I am wondering the same things... :)

Not to make more work for you, but do you have these for non-fiction?

pwhayley, what kinds of non-fiction? Should I make just a 'Non-Fiction' one? I didn't originally because that's not really a 'genre'.

caslan, what I plan on doing is placing these out as the students learn about them. I will use lists from various sources, like spelling lists (which I'm still working on THAT bit...) or vocabulary words.
Alternatively, you could put them out with the caveat that they will ONLY be graded if they write the appropriate story on the appropriate sheet. That could lead to a bit of research on the students part. I always say self-learning is the best learning!

That sounds good. Maybe it can go with your basal reading series. As the students read the book, have them write whatever from the story on the pertinent paper to the genre.

For non-fiction, I do math/science and social studies. Or maybe you can just try informational in general. :)

Hmmmm Well Umm You already have Biography up there, which is good and HUGE for Social Studies. Maybe Autobiography, News Report, gee, now that I have to think about it, I dunno!
