In my writing center, I'm planning to have 3 containers labeled "character", "plot", and "setting". I'm going to put popsicle sticks with ideas for each on them in the containers. Anyone know of a web site that provides ideas for these? I know I could think of some on my own, but I'd like a little more variety. Thanks!

Try looking at sites like Really Good Stuff or Lakeshore and get ideas from the products they sell. I've bought some dice in the past that have things like you are looking for.

Thanks. I saw some stuff that would be good to buy, but couldn't see any ideas for specific plots or anything. Thanks anyway.

(by the way, I love your blog. I read it regularly.:thumb:)

I have one of those "create a story" flip charts... flip a character..flip a setting..flip a plot... write a story. If I have time I'll see if I can look at some of the elements when I go by my classroom tomorrow.

I found a list somewhere in my files about two days ago... I'll look for it again in a little bit. I do remember Frankie the Ferocious Firefighting Ferret as a possible character :)

But I totally stole your idea - it's awesome! I bought some of those plastic popcorn boxes in the Target dollar bins to keep the stick in.
