I need some mini lesson ideas for my first grade writer's
workshop. The topics I am looking for are punctuation,
order of ideas, word choice, and appropriate use of
capitals. What other topics should I focus on and do you
have any mini-lesson ideas? I would like to somehow use
picture books in these mini-lessons as well. Thanks for
    your help!

I'm interested in getting the Four Blocks Writing Minilessons book for Second Grade. It looks good... does anyone know anything about it?

I haven't seen the primary one, but I believe Lucy Caulkins has a great book/plan for primary writing.

This is from a great website www.mandygregory.com

    Mini Lesson Links for Writing

As far as writing, I get almost ALL of my writing lessons from the Ralph Fletcher book Craft Lessons. I love this book. I usually get the idea for my mini lessons there and then stretch them out with other ideas

For older students, but can be adapted to other ages.

    We do things like...
ideas (just getting the kids to know they have something to say)
    punt.
    word choice
    beginnings
    endings
we have them make their stories into books so we do titles, illustrations
