My school is doing a huge "6 Trait" writing push next year. I am familiar with the 6 Traits and used them in my classroom last year. However, I am hoping to introduce a very structured "Writer's Workshop" into my classroom this year. I know that I will be using the mini-lesson, status of the class, conference/free write, and author's chair with my students. For some reason, I am having trouble trying to mesh the 6 Traits and Writer's Workshop together. How do you get the 6 Traits in, while still allowing students to participate in an authentic Writer's Workshop? Any advice you could offer would be much appreciated!
