I stopped at a gas station this evening because I really had to use the restroom. I usually don't go at gas stations, but this was an emergency! I was only in there for a second. As I was walking out, I tried to open the door and it wouldn't move. I tried it again, pushed and pulled....nothing. I looked up and an Indian man was glaring at me from behind a glass wall. He yelled "You run in here and use my restroom and don't even say THANK YOU!" I said "thank you". I tried to push the door open again and it was still locked. I said "I'm very sorry, I was in a hurry....can you please unlock the door?" The man and I were the only two in the store, so it was kind of scary. He finally unlocked the door and let me exit the gas station! Wow, I will never make that mistake again!!

I thought about it for a second, but thought about how ridiculous it sounded. I just ran to my car and drove off!

WOW is right! I'd be scared to death! I don't remember the last time I used a gas station restroom, but I was w/ someone when I did. If it's en emergency, I look for fast food bathrooms.

Wow. I was at a gas station, and I pulled up to the pump. Apparently a guy thought I cut him off, and he ran up to my pump, put his hand over the credit card area and said he wasn't moving until I moved my car. I had a child in the car, and I kept asking him to please step away, but he was in my face. His wife was in his car, and I kept calling to her to please call her husband back. It went on for 5 minutes! I couldn't leave, because it was the last station before I left the city, and I was on empty! What is it with creeps and gas stations??

At first, I thought you were locked in the stall and couldn't open the door. Phew, but that is still weird of him to do that.

I only go to the gas station for the bathroom if my husband is with me or waiting in the car- it just feels weird to be the only one usually in the store with usually a male store employee. I usually stop at restaurants where there are more people around so I feel safer. Glad you're okay!

That is called unlawful restraint. If you had your cell phone on you, you should have called the police.

Wow. I'm rarely speechless but wow.

Thanks everyone! I was in such a hurry that I forgot which one it was. (it was in Houston and I'm not yet familiar with the area) I don't want to go back looking for that place!

Cell phones are good. I always keep mine on me and I will call 9-1-1 for anything troubling no matter how "minor" I think it may be.
