In my classroom I have 8 students with a range of physical and cognitive disabilities. I am considered multi needs and the students in my program are the lowest cognitively in the district. They really all need 1:1's. I have 3 aides and myself. It has really been a challenge this year with so many students and so few of us, especially when it comes to giving the aides their breaks and lunches. We are going, going, going all day to keep up with the needs and behaviors that any lack of two extra hands is a huge challenge. I have been trying to split up my activities into groups, pairing a really low functioning student with a higher functioning student to make it easier on all of us when working with two students. It seems ok, but wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.
