Okay, that sounds crazy!!! Here's the situation...There's a job fair coming up that is offering free hotdog lunches to the first 500 applicants.

Would you eat the hotdog or not? Would it be rude to turn it down or would you look desperate to eat it? There might be a chance, none of the principals would even know. I just want to do the right thing.

    Thanks!!!

I highly doubt that the free hot dog lunch is a trap. no one's been hired at this job fair to see which 500 applicants has accepted the lunch and which haven't.

If you want it: When they offer it to you, you say... "oh thanx, that looks great!" and politely take the lunch over to the table where undoubtedly other applicants are eating. Just try not to drip mustard on your shirt and you'll be fine.

If you don't: Politely say "oh, that's okay. Thanx or the offer, though!" Smile. No need to worry about mustard.:D

I didn't even think about the mustard!!!! Well, I don't like hotdogs, maybe veggie corndogs. But, you're right if there's 500+ (hope not!!!), who would know!:thanks:

hmmmmm.....will the principals be eating hotdogs at these tables? Sometimes casual meetings can take you places. Just a thought!

yeah. I was going to say be wherever the principals and other interviewers will be. If they are not eating hotdogs, use the quieter time to make a longer impression with the principals.

lol I think it is kind of a weird thing to serve hot dogs at a job fair. but who knows?

If you like hotdogs then get one. Earlier this summer, I went to a job fair where they sold subs. It started at 9:00 and went to 4:00. They scheduled 15 min. interviews all day. No one(interviewers and interviewees) could leave for lunch because that would mean losing your parking spot. Depending how long it goes, that hotdog might start to look good.

I would on the way out. I would NOT carry it around with me or eat it prior to interviewing.

I agree. I am laughing to myself because I am picturing someone interviewing munching on a hot dog  I have no idea why that is so funny, probably because it is so silly.

It's Grand Prairie ISD. Go to their website for the address and details. Also Dallas ISD is holding one on Saturday. Both of these are pretty far for me. I live in Keller near Fort Worth. I think traffic may be a killer. So, I may not go to this one after all. I'm still deciding.

Good luck if you decide to go!

A good friend of mine works in GP ISD, she worked in Dallas ISD but moved with her principal who got a new school. She said though she like GP the kids are a bit more unruly than the kids she had in Dallas ISD but she still loves it.

You're laughing because you can image some young disorganized newbie walking around with the lost look and wolfing down a mini dog. Well at least I did. LOL:lol:

Don't do it, it's a trap. They are using the hot dogs as a screening process. Those with mustard on their face will not go any farther in the interview process. :D :D

I was going to say the same thing!!
Always take some with you anyways but you may want to double up if you eat a hot dog and don't take any onions and relish!!

I would be Kobyashi (sp?) the Japanese hot dog eating champ if it would help land a job. Just kidding, it seems a little absurd to me.

At my job fair there was a catered "box lunch" that you ordered ahead of time if you wanted it. No big deal. The idea was that a fairly large number of people would be there for many hours. It was a great lunch! I ate mine afterward, though!

Sometimes a hot dog is just a hot dog. Go with your gut (pun intended).
