Do your K's use a work plan in your classroom?
Do u mean organizing the activity in advance, like number of children, materials, etc., etc., or class routine????
We have a work plan that goes in the children's folders and when they finish a job they are supposed to write it down or have us write it down. It can be very hard to implement in the kinder class so I find that some years I use them and some I don't. It really depends on the kids.
I have a copy I could send to you if you like. It has pictures and words for all the areas in class and is divided in to columns for days of the week.
That would be so wonderful! Thank you so much! There are 3 early childhood classes in our school plus Elementary 1 and Elementary 2. We have always used a work plan with the K's to be consistent with the Elementary programs. We (the directress and child) select works from different areas of the classroom for the child to complete. The child chooses a "challenging" work from the work plan and then after completion of the work, he or she can select a choice work. The teacher checks the work off the work plan. Thank you in advance. I was looking for a different format for the work plan this year.

I student taught in a Mont. magnet school for the public school district in our city. I was with 6th grade, but my friend was in a K class. They used work plans with their kids. It was basically a piece of paper with 3 sections. The top had a teacher choice (something the child needed to have extra work or reteaching on), the middle was a student choice, and the bottom had a daily self evaluation. I realize that Montessori differs when it is in a public school setting, but I thought I would offer what I have experienced.
