How do I do a "save as" in this program? I know I can save using the disk at the top or by hitting cntrl s, but I don't want to save over top of the template I'm using!
If you click on the circle in the upper left hand corner, the Office button, the you will see several commants listed including save as.
I meant to say... then you will see several commands ... but I was in a hurry to answer like I was trying to get a prize or something! Glad that you could understand what I was attempting to say. That new ribbon takes some getting use to for sure!
it took me the longest time to realize that the circle thing in the left hand corner was a button for a command list. :/ Not the best layout, but I'm getting used to it. I just bought word 2007 for my home laptop because that's what they have in the computer lab at school.... Plus a lot of the templates on the online site are specifically for 2007 now. I really don't like a lot of things about it, but I'm slowly acclimating to it.
You can save the document with a regular .doc extension instead of the .docx one. If you save as a "98-2003" document it won't matter if the computer that you send it to has 2007 or not. I do like some of the features of 2007 such as the word count always being in the bottom left corner!
Today at school I couldn't figure out how to change the font color on the old MS Word when I ran out of black ink. But I DO know where to do that on 2007 so we just switched computers I just thought that thing in the corner was the emblem - nothing more. And, Who Me, I was in such a hurry to figure out how to save my stuff that I read it fast enough for it to make perfect sense to me last night!
word 07 has been driving me crazy too. There is a download you can get to make it look like the old word at www.addintools.com Its free at first, then you have to pay $15 to keep the add in.
