A Letter of Interest is a Cover Letter, you can still write a general cover letter without making it specific to an open position. Just get the material together and send it in, it will be fine.

I was going to say what Alisha said about the letter of interest. And I would call HR to ask about the service record.

Well, for starters, don't take it personally.

I think that it's incredibly kind of them to let you know that your application is incomplete.

And for all you know, there may be an opening as of today that simply hasn't made it onto the website yet. In this economy in particular, you want to make sure that you're elligible for any job in which you're remotely interested.

So give them a call, find out what they want, and get it to them tomorrow.

I think I had a chip on my shoulder yesterday  but I did take ya'lls advice and called. She had me upload a general letter for "potential" openings in that area and she said not worry about it. I think what got to me was the wording on the email like "we wont even take a look until.."

I'm glad you called. There's no point in letting a potential job get away.
