I'm curious to see-does anyone else ever type out a whole post or a response and then just decide not to to submit it?

I do this all the time. Sometimes I'll be reading a thread and think didn't I respond to this? Oh yeah, that's right, never posted it.

Am I the only one who does this?

I do it too, especially when a post really gets me upset and I type out this long post in response, but then I delete it right before posting because I don't want to upset anyone.

I do and do it often.

I try to think about the OP and how tone isn't a factor here. I worry someone might think I'm being hateful when I'm not.. little people pleaser here... go figure?

All the time! I have probably cancelled more wait-a-minute-I-don't-really-care, this-argument-is-so-not-even-worth-it, and that's-probably-a-dumb-question-or-response posts than I have posted completed thoughts.

I've even started a thread over this topic and never posted it! :)

Please don't take your shoes off, Dave.

And yes. I delete posts all the time. I tend to be sarcastic, in case anyone hasn't noticed. Not good for making nice on line.

I do this as well. Often, my ideas sound good in my head, but not so great on the screen.

All the time. Mostly because I'm moderating myself so as not to offend and also trying not look stooopid!

Me too! I'm on here all the time and my post count isn't that high so you know I'm resisting the temptation to share my ironic wit. Sometimes when I actually do respond, I wish I hadn't.

I have a bad habit of spouting off authoritatively about stuff I really don't know crap about.

Often times, I'll type a long paragraph and then realize I don't really know what I'm talking about and delete it.

You know what you want and meant to say but when you read it you say to yourself:
    "What idiot wrote this?"
    or
"that's not what I wanted to say"
