I am looking for a good winter songs that the kids can sing for their Winter Program. I am trying to avoid anything that has to do with X-mas because I have a Jehovah's Witness student in my class.

Does anyone know any good songs? (I hope this child can participate in the winter program)

    :):thanks:

One year we sang, "Play the Band, It's Wintertime." Each child held a different rhythm instrument. I held up cue cards with each instrument or the whole band while they sang and performed.

tune: Mary had a little lamb
1st & last verse: Play the band, it's winter time, winter time, winter time. Play the band, it's winter time, happy winter time.
other verses verse: Play the ______ ( triangle, drum, rhythm sticks, bells, tambourine, etc.), it's winter time...
All the children sang all of the verses but only the students holding the pictured instrument played their instrument for each verse. All children played their instruments for the first and last verses.

    Let It Snow : Lyrics

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

    When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.

    The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

There's tons of winter songs without Christ in them. But Jehovah's Witnesses are okay with the idea that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, so I still don't see what the problem is with singing about it? If your school allows traditional carols, then I would go for it-- choose the songs you and the kids love the best, and if Silent Night is one of them, don't ruin it for the rest because one JW family might object.
