Generally speaking, if I want to teach adults in community education or even internationally, will the K-12 cert. be good? I am originally from India and hope to teach ESL there too.

    Thank you,

I believe a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) would be more advantageous for you.

I have an M.S. in Education, and I added on the K-12 certification in TESOL through a certification program at a university. With my master's degree, I am able to teach adults at a nearby community college. They were looking for masters, certification and also experience that was related. I am an elementary ESL teacher who has also taught in public schools overseas, so with that combination, it worked out and I absolutely love it- good luck!
