    #1 Testing season
#2 Temperamental Temperatures. I've had my space heater and fan on for the majority of the evening.
Just had to vent my frustrations.
    Have a great day.

Can't disagree with you there :p

(This late spring will be interesting if it gets hot -- huge class, including 17 boys, in a small portable!)

    EWWW!
You know, there once was a teacher in my building who put, "Take a shower" on her student's homework. And they had to have their parents sign off that it had happened or she counted homework as incomplete.

I knew a 5th grade teacher that made it a requirement for each student to keep a stick of deodorant in their desks.

I'd also add students are restless this time of year and the seasonal change always gives me a cold. I can dodge the strep throat that my students pass back and forth all winter, but never the colds I get in spring and fall.

Let me add 5th graders who are ready for middle school and are done with elementary school work and it is hard to keep their motivation up.

^^ Totally agree about the 5th grader thing. My kids are so over doing anything moderately "cutesy".

Best thing I heard when I asked what they were most excited for for middle school was that they do not have to walk in lines anymore.

See - I don't even worry about that much in 4th grade: if we're walking down the hall and need to make sure there's space for another class to walk by, they are expected to, or if they know it'll tempt them to chat with others (which distracts classes being walked by), then they need to. (And the same with talking when walking from one place to another -- if it's during lunch time, it's fine -- during a time when other classes or learning is happening, not so much).

Interesting.... I have never seen elementary classes not focus on lines. I like that concept just not sure the concept will work at the school I am at.

I don't mind spring to be honest. I prefer summer and fall, but it's an improvement from winter at least!! Every year from November through March/April I gain about 40 lbs, and then starting April/May through September/October, I can start going outside and running without freezing my ends off, and I lose those 40 lbs.

The radar shows snow here now. I'm afraid to look outside. If we miss tomorrow, it will be day 20. We lost all of our spring break.

Wow!! We've had 6 snow days so far, and I thought we had it bad!! We have 3 "built in", and then the other 3 came off of our spring break. Fromt he looks of the reports though, I wouldn't be surprised if we use another on Thursday as well.

We have snow days on paper... we used one for the eclipse (I spent it at a local water park).

We had a snow day last year. It was the first one I recall in this area since I was in the 6th grade. (I am 33).

Essentially, the snow day summoning suggestions you guys gave me on another thread were a load of uselessness.

Our schools are always open, even if buses are cancelled because of inclement weather. No "snow days" means no days ever need to make up. Once our school year calendar is set (usually by the first of March) there are no changes.

We never get snow days. They officially scheduled in, but they are literally never taken. Ever. Usually not a big deal, our road crews are pretty good at getting the snow off the roads quite quickly...but sometimes it would be nice if they would call them...kind of like the time the snow was chest deep on me (I'm 6 ft. tall), and the road crews were completely snowed in themselves, and I had three students at school that day. Terrible on those days, but great come May and we don't have to stay after Memorial Day.

We're on hours now, so we can take a ton of snow days before we have to make them up. When we did though, we added them to the end of the year.

We lost another spring break day because of the snowstorm. We're lucky to still have 4 days left of spring break and the students last day is June 15th.

    pollen - Hayfever until July.

rain - Then earthworms, yuck. No outside play. o_O

uneven temps - Coat in morning, peeling off clothes by lunch time

floods - And the mold afterwards from ruined stuff sitting on streets

snow - Will it ever go away?? Looks cute on crocuses - other than that, tired of it.

    shoes/boots - What to wear?

I love the springtime! I’m currently on Spring Break (mine started on Friday of last week) and I don’t return until 4/10/2018. That’s 11 days off and I love it! And then I get paid that Friday for 4 days worth of work. Finally, school lets out on May 31st for me — I’m counting down the days!

I love spring after the snow is done for the year! Then, even though it can be chilly and rainy here, I love how everything is starting to grow and turn green!! I don't have any allergies so I just enjoy everything!!!

Our spring break is in two weeks. 3 snow days are built in the school calendar. The other 4 come off of spring break. Our spring break is now just a 3 day weekend :( Sat-Sun-Mon)

That's true---the kids aren't going to cancel their plans so it's going to be an odd 4 days trying to teach like a 1/4 of the class

We are told to not make irreversible spring break plans. It sucks, but what can you do? We have plenty of time over the summer for that stuff at least.

Yeah, it sucks, but I guess there's really not much else we can do. Usually we stay under the 3 built-in days, but this is a weird year.
