It is summer time and I am spending part of my day hanging out reading threads on a teacher site. Why am I doing this? I should simply be relaxing and not thinking about the profession at all.

I spent my first free day in my classroom, so it could be worse! But, seriously, I find this place relaxing (most of the time). If you don't, then GO AWAY! Relax! :p

It is ironic isn't it. This place, though about our work, is relaxing.

I actually just went to the general ed page and read the topics and thought - I don't really want to think about any of this right now. I will probably just stick to time out for awhile.

That is what I was thinking earlier today. But then again when I find a topic that gets me going it is hard for me to resist. And during the summer my days can be quite boring so sometimes I need something to get me fired up.

I have been doing the same. I guess because it is a type of comfort to read what others post. I learn something new and I pass the time. It gives me time to get the wheels in my head rolling, either I follow an idea or I modify it ...but it gives me the opportunity to make it my own by August.

exactly and I can work at my own pace while still improving for next year. I love that part of summer. I've found that I'm much more productive during the summers now that I am part of this community. Its fun.

I agree. Even in the summer or on holiday vacations when we need to not think about work, THIS site is very addicting! I've been on here a lot more than I should numerous, numerous times. :)
