Yes, I hate to say it, but I've only got 3 wks (& couple days) left of my vacation! The time's going by so fast, it's not even funny. I moved at the very beginning of June & in one week, went on a couple of day trips & that's it so far. I'm hoping to squeeze in a couple more. I need another 2 months!!!

I've only been off for 2 weeks and have 8 weeks till I report.( and I do not go in but for 1 or 2 days prior to having to report) I am loving it! I could never imagine going back to school at the beginning of August. The fun at the shore really starts "heating up" at the beginning of August. The ocean water temp. has reached 76 degrees already.

I have seven more weeks, but I know that will fly by fast! But then, I think about all of my non-teacher friends and am reminded to be glad that I get so much time off at once.

I feel ya Ms. I! I go back in a couple weeks also but I feel like I haven't had enough time to do everything! I'm glad to have the summer though!

I go back this week for new teacher orientation at the end of the week, and the rest of the teachers come back on Tuesday the 17th. Kids come back July 23rd! It went so fast but I'm ready to start my new job!

I have been neglecting a lot of what I planned to do this summer so this was a nice reminder that I have to kick it into gear.

Our district is going back two weeks earlier than usual this year, so it will seem like a short summer. On the upside, we will get out a lot earlier next spring.

Yikes, a few of you only have a couple wks already! For those who still have 7-8 wks, that's great. So true! It could always be worse. Unless someone solely works from home, how many other people do we know that get our kind of work schedules?

I have just about exactly 3 weeks left- that is scary to think about! I start on July 31st. Luckily, a lot of that is for new teachers (and I get paid extra for those first 4 days- I'll appreciate that come pay day) so I don't actually start with kids until August 13th. I ended up with a really short summer this year b/c my previous district went from early september- mid June while this district goes mid-august to May. So I really only got about 6 weeks total...if I think of it that way, I still have half of my vacation left!

I go back on the 1st of August, and our last day was just barely 6/29. I am going to have a short vacation this summer because I am starting a new school in August, and they got out a week before us, and start back a week earlier too.

What do you do for those 2 weeks before the students arrive? I go back 3 days before my students arrive (I would love at least 2 more though).

The first week is a 4 day week of new teacher training and the next week is the regular district pd/work days. We haven't gotten a specific schedule yet so I'm not sure how much of that is workshops and such and how much we actually get to work in our rooms. I'm hoping there's a decent amount of time to set up the room!

I believe our first official day back is August 1. However, I have to unpack my classroom (returned to my old school this year) and set it up all over again. Some grade levels are moving to a completely different section of the school (and were notified of this on the last day of school) so I'd imagine that I will not only have to move the 1st grade materials out of my room, but also move the 4th grade materials into my room since I want to get a jump start before most people are back on campus. So, I'll probably be back up in my room on the 16th so I can have plenty of time to work and not be rushed.

I have 3.5 weeks left. I haven't rested, since I taught summer school. This week I'm having a Vacation Bible Camp at my church and the last two weeks went to planning. I plan to go back in 2 weeks to set up. I don't feel ready, I'm still very tired.

I have seven weeks left....three camping trips, and a trip to see my BFF from high school to look forward to.

I have 5 weeks left and that doesn't seem like enough! But one of those weeks I will be at a union leadership conference. Then the 6th week, we have to work in our classroom one day of our choice, and we have an "optional" 3-day technology "conference" in our school that we can attend that seems pretty cool. Like I said, it's optional but we have to do 2 days of PD in the summer and I think this is pretty much the only thing the district is offering. I will go at least one day because I am presenting, but I will probably go to all three, or at least go to a couple of the seminars and then work in my room the rest of the time.

Tech Conference (presenting) -7/27 First "official" work day - 7/30 Open House - 8/1 (evening) Fist Day for Students - 8/3

Faculty meetings--August 1 and 2 First day for students--August 13 During the week and a half in between, we have two work nights (where board members and families come in to help get the school ready for the year--since we're a small private school, we don't have a maintenance staff or anything) and an evening of back-to-school parent meetings. We're free to come in as needed. I like having that time in between meetings and the school year to work out any new things, etc. Plus, it lets me swing gently back into a school routine while enjoying my last days of vacation!

Mine hasn't even officially started yet. 4 more days of summer school . After a week of vacation I'm at pd for a week too. Not much relaxing for me this summer.

We have five weeks of vacation left. However, since I'm moving back down to 2nd grade after a year at middle school, I'm certain that I'll start working in my room during the first week of August.
