Oh my gosh. That is horrible! She should have previewed the video but I can totally imagine she was up late at night finishing them for her class. Probably a dedicated teacher since she is sweet enough to make them all DVDs, but eee-gads!! that is a really bad mistake.
I have to say - if she's dumb enough to NOT check before she sent it home, maybe she shouldn't be responsible for the education of these kids...
EEEK. My colleague just told me a similar story. Her daughter got an entire porn dvd instead of the class dvd. My colleague called other parents but it seems her daughter was the only one with porn.
That's horrible. I actually feel bad for her. I agree with paperheart - Just clicked on the wrong thing - trying to finish up the DVD late at night, and what an awesome thing for the teacher to do and then, oops!
This should have been posted on the Job Seekers section - pretty sure there will be an opening for 5th grade in Sacramento soon. Oh my! Seriously, I can picture the teacher working on these special dvd's until 2am and screwing up. no pun intended
I'm not sure I understand how that could happened. Was she taping over used DVD's and that was on at the end. Honestly I made DVD's for my kids at the end of the year of various activities I taped and I didn't watch them all (21) before I sent them home, but I bought blank disks and copied the videos one by one. There wasn't a chance of anything else being on them. Even if they don't fire her, her reputation is ruined.
I feel bad for the poor lady. She is probably humiliated. I bet she will always double check her work now!
I'm still in shock and pain from watching that news clip. I'm being completely honest...I would uproot my entire life and relocate far, far away. Cringe.
Ok you all...my question is for you...don't any of you think it's odd that she made this recording of herself having sex? Maybe I'm just getting old but I am NOT recording myself doing that and no one else is either then I will never have to worry about it getting into anyone's hands! LOL She's a dummy!
I sent the link to my mom - who found it really entertaining that at the very end one of the newscasters said that new DVDs would be sent to the kids. REALLY??? You mean the parents don't want to keep the old ones?
Wow... that is really horrible!! It was hard to see what was happening in the video clip they saw, but it appeared that she was "alone" in the sex video. I think she was a married woman, so her husband is also probably suffering as well!!! I'm not surprised that she made a sex tape. With a camera right on the computer, it's easy to do. However, those things should not be saved! On a not quite as tragic note, I got a bunch of free VHS tapes from a video store in my neighborhood because they know I'm a teacher. During the last week of school we had a movie day and I went to pop in Pollyanna for my first graders. It was NOT Pollyanna, we soon discovered, but a movie called "The Hero and the Terror" which started out with a some big explosions and a fight. That was all in the first 5 seconds before I promptly turned it off. I should have known the tape wasn't Pollyanna when I was fast forwarding through the opening previews which were for Dead Poets Society and Die Hard. The kids however loved it and all told their parents they saw a "violent" movie at school! I did have to explain that one but they were very understanding!
Thank goodness you were right there! That reminds me of my third grade class- My teacher was older (probably in his 60's). He had been my mom's 4th grade teacher, and was in his 40's then. We were learning about the old west and cowboys. He had promised us a video as a reward, and he went to the video store to find one and I guess he grabbed the first movie with cowboy in the title. So, he popped the movie in and we all gathered around to watch it. Turns out, it was Urban Cowboy hmy: We didn't watch it for long...
Umm I think it was just a mistake. Seriously, everyone I know has at least one naked picture of themselves out there somewhere, or a sex tape, or both. Its one of those things... the technology is so inexpensive and easy to use, that, well its the way it is. That said, I don't think I'd keep those files anywhere near anything I was doing for the kids I teach.
That's exactly why I won't make anything like that. It's just too easy for it to get out there. Once it's on the Internet, it's impossible to get off.
Sheesh! CanadianGal, what kind of friends DO you have? So; does anyone here really have one of themselves...a photo or tape??? I'll bet the majority DON'T. Me...Not! Next...
That was my thought too when I read it Cangal - I would never do anything like that and to my knowledge, my friends don't have film of themselves either. I still don't understand how that clip could have gotten on those DVD's, unless she taped over one with that scene on it. I really don't have any sympathy for her.
