I have mixed emotions. I missed the kids and coworkers, but I LOVE sleeping in and lazing about!
Me! I'm looking forward to everything except that whole getting up early thing
I have a professional development/ workshop day on Monday and the kids come Tuesday. We've had two full weeks off, so it's enough but I wouldn't mind another day or so.
I go back Tuesday...I'll miss being home but I'll have another break in February.
I'm off until the 9th, and then we go through until mid-March without a break.
I go back. I'm not ready, but maybe by Monday evening I will be ...
I will go back Tuesday.
I go back Monday. Sometime between now and then I need to make semester exams and study guides. Yikes!
I go back on Tuesday as well. I'm really not ready. I love sleeping in, and I am dreading getting up at 5:30 again, and just the whole business of it (making lunches in the evening, getting DD up who is not a morning person, etc.). Of course, we always have our coffee, right?
I go back Wednesday. I'm loving this time off-I'm definitely not ready to go back!
I do and I'm really somewhat sad. I think it might have something to do with the fact that this is the first winter in over 28 years I can enjoy the outdoors. Yesterday I went to the Mississippi Petrified Forest, the sun was shining and it was about 67 degrees. I'm going to miss my nature walks in the late mornings. (There is a wonderful nature walk close by me.)
I do. Christmas is the only week-long break we get all year. We have a day for MLK Day and then we go to Easter - we only get 5 days off then - IF there is no snow.
I really hate out calendar.
I go back Tuesdy but it is a teacher work day. I also get a week off in February so at least I have something to look forward to LOL
Me too. We'll have MLK & President's Day off. Then nothing until Easter which is only Fri & Mon, if there's no snow. Which, by the rate we're going, isn't a big worry.
I do...on Tues the 10th, that is.
Monday we have a work day and Tuesday the kids come back. It has been nice to actually get things done and play with my kids. MLK day is an in-service so no days off until March for spring break.
I go back this coming Tuesday as well. We only have 2 Mondays in January that we have school, so at least there is a little ease into the routines again...
I am. Pooh.
Yep, back on Tuesday. I am not feeling ready. I want to play longer.

I go back on Tuesday too. I honestly feel like I've been off for forever, which I guess is a good thing! I think now that I'm back in town (I was visiting my home state- just got back), I'll be ready for school to start on Tuesday. We have a lot of furlough days this year, which of course means less pay but also means a lot of time off, so I don't have to really worry about that. The next 3 weeks in January are 4 days weeks for us, then we have an entire week off at the end of February. The hardest stretch will be March/1st half of April- about 7 weeks with no breaks and all the state testing which tends to put everyone in a bad mood.
I am, but it's a teacher work day! And no meetings are allowed per superintendent's rule all day! What a perfect way to get back into school. A day to get organized.
I really, really like this new superintendent.
We go back Wednesday, then MLK day off, and a four day week-end around Valentine's Day.
shouldbeasleep - I am jealous! We have ZERO paid teacher work time.
We start on Tuesday as well.
I love school. But it's been a rough vacation. I'm pretty exhausted, as are Peter and the kids. I'm praying for a snowy January... a few days off would make a big difference.
We go back on Tuesday as well. We've had a week and a half off; I could do with a few more days. Then we go straight through until Spring Break at the end of March. I'm also praying for some snow days to break up that stretch, just for everyone's sanity...
We go back Monday, as do our students. I am so not ready -- these last two weeks being home with my two little ones have been nice, and I am going to miss sleeping in until 7:30 or 8 every morning. My alarm is set for just before 5 am... not going to be pleasant Monday, let me tell you! (The alarm, I mean.)
I got back on Thursday, but the kids don't come back until next Monday (the 9th) which is close to being a state holiday in Louisaiana! lol (LSU is playing for the BCS championship!)
We go back Monday, students and all. I'm not looking forward to it. We do get the next Thur/Fri off for stock show, but then no days off until Spring break in March. I'm hoping for a snow day or two in there, plus going to look at some professional development days to break up the time.
That's a state holiday? For a football game? So the holiday is dependent upon the team? What if they have a bad year?...... Oh, you said "close to". Nevermind
You should see what happens in this state when the Saints have a playoff game. Then again, we start the party at Christmas, and celebrate on through the carnival season.
Very true!! Our principal (who is BIG on proper attire) gave us school tshirts for Christmas. Last year was hot pink with our SGE (our school) in zebra. This year....it's purple and gold! We'll all be wearing them day 1 with the kids (the 9th).
