Ok who else woke up to a white ground???
*snif* I wish I had!!!
Ok just came in from making very small & crude snowmen!!!!
I moved south in hopes of never hearing that horrible word again...Unfortunately it s***ed when I went home last Xmas
oh it is snowing here! tree branches are down all over the place, i think from the weight of the snow. the flakes are fat and wet and heavy and they are sticking! i hate it!
No snow here!
We got about 2 inches of rain last night (thank goodness that wasn't snow or we'd have about a foot!) and it was really windy, but it's about 70 degrees and humid out today so no white stuff for us. The temps are definitely going to be dropping into the 30s and 40s over the weekend, but all the rain will be out of here by then.
Snow (just a light covering) and cold here, and very blustery! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing on the ground, but lots blowing about this afternoon. I'm glad I was out at a workshop today...with the wind and the snow flurries the kids must have been crazy!
Please, I beg you: do NOT use "the s word"!!! It's not even Halloween!!!!
Snow????? Heck, we're upset that it's only going to be in the mid-60's tomorrow!
Real funny, Doc!
Eat your heart out!! LOL......I think maybe I'll go to the beach!
So, you enjoy rubbing salt into the wounds, huh?
A good rubbing never hurt anybody...
Well, I have to agree with you there!
You know, you're cute when you're agreeable! LOL
If I lived at home I would be upset you got snow before me! But I don't even care about snow this year. I want the year to go by fast so I can go home.
Hey, I was at the beach on Monday, and I'm in NY!
But it's supposed to drop a LOT tonight-- looks like sweater weather tomorrow.
I'm just really really not ready to find hats and coats and mittens and boots for my kids
I wasn't ready for that at 6 this morning either, Alice! I'm lucky I found ONE pair of gloves that matched.........and I had recess duty today, too! When I left school it was a "balmy" 34 degrees!
That's crazy! It's hard for me to picture places having snow right now. It's in the 90s here and my A/C is on! (It's finally dropping down into the 60s at night - we're all really excited!)
no snow here but they said it might happen tonight....it is SOOOOOO cold though! and i forgot my winter jacjet at home thinking i wouldn't need it till after thanksgiving! ..wishful thinking!
and to make it worse my family is in florida livin it up on the beach while I am here freezing! they just called to rub it in!
It flurried- HARD for about an hour this morning. The kids were SO excited to go play in it, but by the time we finished our snack and were ready to go outside, it was stopped and melted (it didn't stick anyway, ground's too warm), so there were puddles everywhere. We didn't go out this morning, but we did this afternoon. IT was COLD!!!!!
It's really hard trying to teach kids about FALL when it's SNOWING otuside!!!!!

The seasons seem to be getting further and further out of whack. We are in southern Australia, half way through spring. The weather should be breezy, mild (in the 60s or 70s in Fahrenheit) and wet. The paddocks should be green and lush.
Instead we are in drought still. The paddocks are yellow already (4 months early) and the last time we had more than a sprinkle of rain was months ago. Yesterday was very blustery and up to 98 degrees - true bushfire weather. Four thousand firefighters were working yesterday - usually that kind of crisis doesn't happen until January, maybe December. It's getting scary here, and hearing that your seasons are out as well doesn't bode well.
Whinge over, should be happy - it's FRIDAY!
Anyone in Buffalo NY??? The news is reporting that they got over 2.5 FEET yesterday-- their snowiest Oct day ever. (And that's saying a LOT for Buffalo!!)
This was the earliest reported measurable snow for Chicagoland EVER.
Too early, if you ask me.
We got a little yesturday, but nothing that stuck around for today.
I hope trick or treat day will be nice. I'd hate to pull "a mother" and make my son wear his winter coat over his costume. I always hated that!
I survived and escaped Buffalo! That storm was the scariest thing I've ever experienced. My roommate and I had to physically move trees off of cars and out of the road to get out today. We could see our breath in our house and didn't want to risk another night in the cold. We keep talking to people from outside of Buffalo going "No, I don't think you UNDERSTAND what it was LIKE!" So frightening, we thought there was going to be major damage to the house from the trees.
I spent my recess today chasing kids out of the school--
"You need to be outside for recess."
"But it's cold outside."
"It's too cold."
"You're in Canada and winter's coming. It's going to get a lot colder. Go outside!"
...repeat endlessly for 30 minutes...
Boy, does that sound familiar! Except it was the recess teachers , not the kids, saying that!!!!! LOLOL!
Yuck, snow stinks! It is getting cold here....but no snow yet....I finally gave in and wore shoes to school for the first time all year (no socks though, one step at a time!)
Hahahahahahaha.... of course!!! I live in ND. We had almost 2inches of fluffy white stuff Wednesday. During the course of Thursday and Friday though, it almost all melted away. Never fear though... there's more in the forecast for the rest of the weekend and into next week.
I am in Washington (state) and it is usually cold and raining, around the mid 40's this time of year. However, this year we have been getting up to the mid 60's and sometimes 70's during the day still but really, really cold at night. (below freezing) It's a little tricky getting dressed in the morning...trying to find warm clothes for cold weather and having those same clothes be for warmer weather later in the day.

I'm having the same problem. I leave the house in the morning and it's usually somewhere between 35 and 45 degrees outside, but then the highs for the day are up around 65-70.
first snow this morning!
Wow, I can't get over all of you having snow! We had our first flurries right around this time last year, but I don't think we've got any in our forecast yet.
lol..the snow is gone and the sun is shinning ..but it is freezing!
We're hoping to have power back by Tuesday. The snow is pretty much gone but the damage is a little more lasting.

We almost always have snow on the ground by Halloween. I always buy costumes that fit OVER their coats..
On the other hand, we don't yet have snow. And the construction on my house was put off until spring because of forecasted snow..
It BETTER snow.. I am not going through all this turmoil for nothing..
I went to the construction site yesterday, and threatened to put a sign, "Home Sweet Home" on my pile of dirt.
