I married (and divorced) a musician. Not the most responsible thing I've ever done. They're a whole lot of fun to date, but not very good to marry. :p

I married a soldier as well. We divorced nearly 5 years ago.

I am currently dating a teacher. We've known each other for years - before either of us became teachers.

I'm not married yet, but only had 2 serious BFs. My ex became a Marine after we had been dating a while. I know for a fact he's no longer in the Marines now.

My current BF & most of his immediae family are in the pest control business.

My daughter who is also a teacher married a firefighter/paramedic.
Are you doing a survey Math? Or are you just curious? I believe who teachers marry is as diverse as can be. It would be interesting to see if this is not so.

I was in the car business. Dated and later married our Warranty Clerk. Three children and about a decade later, she went back to school and then got a position with our Special Ed Dept. About a decade after that, I followed in her footsteps.

a police officer - we both "get" each other when we gripe about our jobs, lol. Overworked, underappreciated, etc. One huge difference: he can tell people they're acting like idiots and I can't. :p

    I married an SAP Analyst.

He was an Accountant when we met and is much happier in his job now. Accounting work would have him at the office until midnight many times a month.

My dating history includes a med student, a physical therapist, and a mathematician.

You are correct. There are a few in our area (who are cert. by the AFA) but most areas are lacking a true professional farrier!

I don't know how to meet people. We moved so much when my dad was in the Air Force. I'd just start to come out of my shell and make a friend, and, BAM, new surprise move.

I also lost 150lbs 6 years ago. The last time I dated was ~12 years ago. In college, I should have tried harder. I was too much older than my classmates, even if they didn't realize, and the grad students kept to themselves.

So, yeah. I'm going to be the crazy bird lady.

My husband is a stationary engineer. We live near a major refinery hub and I would say 75% or more of the teachers in my district are married to someone who works in, or is involved with, the refineries in some way. My husband considered being a teacher, but didn't feel that he could support a family on a teacher's salary.

No. I said he got hired for a job at my district...never said what type of position it was. He didn't end up taking the job at the time, but maybe he can in the future.

DH and I started dating when we were students (HS sophomores:whistle:). He became a radio news director, but now works for the state govt. in media. I remember when I used to make more money than he did. But that was 26 years ago.
