    bad first day

Ugh, I just had the worst first day ever. I just wasn't on my game. I'm so sad, because I like that first day to really set the tone for the year, and I looked like an inexperienced, clueless airhead. :(

:hugs: Don't be so hard on yourself. Come in strong tomorrow. You'll be back on your game. One day will not make or break you.

Yes, there were whistlers, which was actually what I was originally going to write about, but then changed my mind. Apparently I didn't change the title.

Whistlers used to be one thing that I hated because it was hard to crack down on. Then I realized, that it's best not to try to figure out who it is (that encourages them and it becomes a game to them) and not act like it bothers me (again, that would just keep them going).
After that I never had problems.
Just this past week, I had someone whistle in 3 different classes. I firmly said 'whoever it is, stop!!".
Interestingly, in each class I caught the person, I just happened to look at the student at the right time.
I smiled, and said 'I got my whistler". Then it all stopped.

I either got better at it, or I got lucky.

Ha. Whistlers drive me nuts. It's one of my two pet peeves. The second is when a student snapped his fingers at me to get my attention. (Only happened once haha)!

I did figure it out. And it's done. Not sure why you insist on your negativity on my posts.
