I was 11. I remember hearing all about it on the news. One of the shows I watched was Punky Brewster & they did an episode on it.

I was in high school. We were out of school that day for a snow day. We were talking about it in science class the next day.

I was in college and the launch was being broadcast on the radio. I was getting ready for class when it happened.

January 28, 1986, I was three months pregnant with Kevin. I was heading out to the ob/gyn when my mom told me what happened.

My husband and I were living on an Air Force base. I was at home studying for the Bar Exam, he was on "alert" (back in the days when the AF kept squadrons scrambled for immediate take-off in case of attack) and called me to tell me what had happened.

I was 4 years old, standing in the front yard with my brother and dad, watching it go up. I remember the neighbor started yelling; my dad hustling us in the house and turning on the TV; then my mom calling from work hysterical (she did home health care and was working for an elderly man with a condo on the beach further north of our house... so her view was even more tragic).

I was 1 and a half, and it was a few days after my baby brother was born. I can't remember any of it.
