I am looking for the fabric zippered pencil bags. I need around 25 for my class. Has anyone found them at a good discount price? I keep looking in the sale adds, but they don't show them. My tables are super small and this is the only thing that I can think of to hold crayons that won't take up too much room.

WalMart just put them back out last week -- fabric zippered pencil pouches for 97 cents each. I've had a set used daily for three years -- and they are holding up great!!!! Very durable. They are the best!

I saw them, but had to wait until payday. Now there are none. I will keep checking, thanks.

the walmart kind are the every day low price so don't worry about getting them this week. They hold up really well. I'm trying the .50 version from Target. They are a really thick plastic so I'm hoping they will hold up

I looked Oriental trading sells bags that are small. The comments say that they wouldn't hold an unsharpened pencil. I don't know if they would work for a whole box of crayons.
The one's at Target, are they made of material? I want some that will last.

Not sure what the Target ones are made of...I didn't pick one up or really look very closely at them. They looked like they were made of one of those fabric/plastic material combinations, but don't quote me on that.

We usually get local banks to donate them to the school. (They have the bank's logo on them.) Is that an option where you are?

I just saw the office depot ad for next week. They have a clear plastic pencil pouch for 5 cents each. I didn't see a limit, but I'm guessing 3 or so. And they probably aren't top quality and may tear up easily, but for 5 cents it's worth a try.

I tried the office depot ones last year and they are not the best. The zipper broke on them within a few weeks, but the plastic lasted all year. I had several students who used them for the entire year, they just spilled a lot.

    Make yor own?

I found an idea on Pro Teacher...

Use a good quality Ziploc bag with the zipper. Use a piece of duct tape to reinforce the sealed end opposite the zipper. I put the tape on so that it would cover both sides of the bag. Then I used a hole punch that would line up with the holes in a binder.

I bought 2 boxes of bags for $2 each plus duct tape. I made 22 for $2. I made about 10 extras in case some rip. I have extras to make more if needed. But I thought I would try this since it is my first time using binders.
