I just applied for a job teaching 7/8 grade Language Arts/History in a Catholic school with a Montessori framework. They seem to be very enthused. However, if I get an interview, I would like to have a great deal more information about the Montessori aspects of the program. Could someone give me a quick explanation?

Wow. Montessori for junior high is very different than Montessori for younger children. I know here in Cincinnati there's a training program for junior high Montessori teachers and quite a few schools that have started junior high programs.

I would check the American Montessori Society's website

    http://www.amshq.org/

and see what they have about Montessori junior high. Or, simply do a websearch for Montessori junior high.

Like I said, it's VERY different than what I do with younger children, but it's a great thing for junior high kids. It's definitely not the traditional classroom with desks and teachers lecturing.
