If you have Cost Plus World Market in your area, they have director's chairs and covers in today's ad. I have a bar height one that I got at Pier One several years ago.

Pier One, definitely. I've bought two over the last couple of years-- one tall and one short. Definitely get a short one if the kids will be sitting in it. I have a tall one that doesn't get used. It's just stored in my room. I need to sell it to another teacher or something like that.

I heard a manager tell a couple of employees that all their director chairs were recalled, so they took them out of our store last week.

Back when I taught 3rd grade, I used to buy a white plastic outdoor chair from Walmart to Target to use as my author's chair. When we wrote stories, anyone who wanted to share sat in the chair to read it and got to sign their name on it with a colored Sharpie.

We put names in a hat at the end of the year and a kid took the chair home to keep.

There are all different colors and lots of different kinds of canvas, too. They're very cute. I'm going to check them out today and see if it's worth it.

Ok-so I bought a director's chair from World Market. Definetely worth it! The ones that are on sale for $16.99 are smaller ones. I teach 2nd Grade and they would not have any problem sitting in this chair. I think that K's would not have much trouble sitting in it either. It's a good height as to where I could get back up and not hurt myself. They come in natural, dark brown, expresso, or white. I got natural.

They do not come with the canvas covers, but good news is...they are on super sale for $2.49 (normally $10!!!) They had lots of choices.

If you are interested in a larger one (bar size-30"), they are $31.99. But I think the $16.99 ones are perfect.

I didn't even notice what the World Market ever was- there's one in Orlando I've passed a few times, and I've never stopped. Now I want to go!

    This is awesome, too- http://www.worldmarket.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3597181

Seems like an eccentric and fun store! Goes with the funky classroom design ideas I have in mind a little.

I bought mine off of Craigslist for $5. I then repainted it and got a new cover for it at Pier One. It's awesome and I saved tons of money. Try Craigslist for sure.

I bought one at Cost Plus this past weekend to go with my Hollywood theme. It cost $25 for the chair and seat cover. There is a taller chair, which was a bit more expensive. I saw that it was still on sale in their ad yesterday.
