When the cat is away...the boy will play.

Yesterday, my 10 year old son thought I went down the street to pick up my older son. I was in the garage. I came in and heard a strange noise upstairs. Like a motor running. I called for my son and then figured maybe he had the jacuzzi on in my bedroom- a no-no without asking. So I go to my bedroom and there he is, in his boxers, on the treadmill. Well sort of. I wasn't too happy but it is a little funny. Those are Nascar Hotwheels with scotch tape. Notice the wreckage at the back of the treadmill.

Behavior like this is usually an indicator of a serious deficiency in this toy arsenal. Something is missing.

I'd say maybe a remote control car, or (if you want to go old-school) a slot car set. If he were not using the scotch tape, I'd say it would be something that involved cars and crashing.

Very creative! A scientific mind at work.

My son and I spent an hour in bed this morning reading books. When I finally went downstairs, I found the freezer door wide open, an overturned laundry basket against the freezer, two popsicle wrappers and the empty sticks behind a chair in the front room, along with a box of melting, remaining popsicles.

So he did this before I woke up. Oh, he will be 4 in a week and a half.

The popsicle sticks remind me of when my brother had chicken pox when we were little and he pretty much lived on the couch for a week. When he was better my mom was cleaning up and she must have found 10 tylenol under the couch cushions. lol.

I posted above and I'm very impressed with his experimenting. I'm also a little nervous about the treadmill, though. He's older, so it may not be as much of an issue, but we are super, super careful with our treadmill and our son. We keep it unplugged and keep the little emergency wrist strap stored in a different place way out of his reach.

Great use of the treadmill! I'm surprised my son has never come up with this one. Then again, maybe he has and I just have never caught him!
