When does YOUR summer end?

Seriously, is it me, or does it feel like July has flown by? *sigh*

While I am juiced, now I am in a panic about getting it all done! LOL:lol:

I go back for meetings on Aug 16 (in fact Aug 16, 17, 18 and Open house with parents/children on the 19th) and our first day of school is August 23. I guess I am glad that it is supposed to be a rainy week, so I can get a good chunk done!

What about you? When do you go back?

 

I go back on August 12th and school starts on August 24th.

You all have so much lead time before the kids come back! We go back on the 16th and have kids on the 18th!

 

go back 16th for inservice kids on the 23rd! But I always go back beginning of Aug to get things setup and ready!

 

I start teacher inservice today in 2 hours.

Kids start back on Augusut 4th.

 

I go back this Thursday. The kids go back next Thursday.

 

I go back Aug 9 (Monday) and the kids start that Friday, the 13th. (Yep, Friday the 13th - - - - hoping it's a good omen! )

 

I go back on the 9th and the kiddos come back on the 12th! But I'm working at a new building this fall...isn't completed yet and they are only giving us a few days before school starts to get in there, get unpacked and get ready....crazy!

 

July is flying!!

I still have all of August though! I go back on Sept 1.

 

I have a Math training on the 3rd, then my first day is the 16th and the kids come back on the 19th. I'm excited and [almost] ready to go back, but summer DID fly by!!!!

 

I have a program planner meeting this Thursday. All staff returns August 2nd and kids return August 9th. BUT...we were out of school just before Memorial Day at the end of May.

 

Teachers start one month from today - August 26. We have 2 staff days (one spiritual development as I'm in a Catholic school and one for meetings). Students start August 30.

Its going fast! This summer was one of our shortest - exactly 8 weeks and 1 day of holidays for teachers.

I can't believe that it's the last week of July already! My first "official" day back is September 2nd, but I'll be going in to work in my room starting August 30th.

 

Teachers go back on Aug. 13, with kids coming on Aug. 16. I wish we had more planning time before the kids came back to school. I will be in my class off and on for the next few weeks to get thigs ready.

 

We NYC teachers go in September 7th. I can't believe how much earlier some school districts make teachers go in before kids. We only go in a day before the kids come.

 

Teachers go back on Aug. 12 and students return on Aug. 17th. We had a very short 6 week vacation

 

I can't believe that i am talking about when I return to school----officially teachers return to school August 17 and students return on August 25--several years ago our county started school around August 4 or 5---

I will have to go get the room ready before Aug. 16. I think someone said we can't get in before Aug.9, and I'll be out of town until the11th!! We have Open House the week of Aug. 16, so it will be crunch time. We have to take everthing down, move furniture , put everything away and off the couners, etc., in June, so it is a lot of work.

The summer has flown by... but, I have had 9 months off (we moved to a different state in November and I had a baby in December, so I took the rest of the school year off).

 

I'm glad our summer is only halfway over, lol.

I can't wait til we go back. This summer has been very relaxing. But I'm ready to teach! Perhaps its because this is my son's first summer staying at home with me. Aaahhhh. I've signed him up for a few camps because this whole staying at home thing does not work for us, lol.

 

I go back on the 16th. Hubby goes back on the 9th. I get a whole week of the house to myself before the madness begins.

 

I taught summer school, so today is my first day of summer vacation. We can get started on our rooms August 17 (though I have to go earlier and move my classroom) and we have our first staff meeting on August 20. The students come for Orientation on August 24 and our first full day of school is August 25.

 

Wow - I thought our 8 weeks off was short. Where do you teach?

 

I'm in AB too and I work with the CBE, but my school has a modified school year. I love the extra time off over Spring Break and Christmas (this year we get extra time off over Thanksgiving instead of Christmas to match up with other school with modified school years) but short summers suck.

 

I didn't realize that there were schools that did modified year with CBE. Are you in a school that is strictly special education (E.F. School)? I got an opportunity to see that school and thought it was great. If I could live in Calgary (not a city person) I would love to work there.

 

It technically ends August 10th, but school doesn't start until August 23rd. The summer dragged by for me, but I was working on grad school, which ends this Friday. I know I'm wishing away my summer but I can't wait til this summer session is over!
