When do/did you get your last paycheck of the school year? My last check is mid June:eek:

We are switching over to a new pay schedule next school year starting September 1st...we will receive our first check each school year the first week we go back which is great! We will only be working 3 days the first week and get a full paycheck and then continue to get checks continuously until June 24th!\

But this year we will still be on the current pay schedule and I will NOT receive a check after June 12th this is one of the reasons we went to the new pay schedule!!!!!

Luckily, i am working Summer School starting first week in July-----since June is going to be just as tight as August usually is for me:mad::unsure::(

Thank God I have a little part time job to get me through until I get my first Summer School check.

I am in a similar situation as you in that my last check is mid June and then summer paychecks from the ESY program in July.

At least I know this new school year I will get a check the first week in September:D What a difference it will make..last year I didn't get my first check until 3rd week in September!!

We actually have the option of getting paid all year (in the new school year) without a break, but on a Paras salary it just wouldn't work, at least not now..maybe in a few years after i've gotten few more raises (steps) under my belt.

I am actually expecting a huge pay jump in the 2016-17 school year, so I have one more year to go for that to happen:)

I've opted for the 12 month pay option (thankfully that's an option for me!) but I think the last paycheck that's for this school year is dated August 1. September 1 would be the first paycheck of the new school year. (We are paid once a month).

I spoke with one of the teachers in my building yesterday and she said when she use to get her ''balloon'' summer check in June it would be gone by August!!! And then to not get paid again until late September was really difficult because the money would never last through the entire summer (and she's a single parent) so she said spreading checks out is a great idea...unfortunately for her the ''balloon'' payment option didn't work for her because she had to go well over a month with no check until 4 weeks after school started.

That's what my union is trying to avoid. Its great to have options!!!

We are paid year round, and because our start date has been moved earlier in August for several years, we are now getting paid for the previous year after the new school year has already started.

A friend (former co worker) of mine just told me she use to get her checks spread out over the entire year but then she struggled all year to pay everything on time, enjoy life a bit, etc.

She now prefers taking it all in 10 months and has a part time job in the summer, she always teaches summer school plus she sells Avon every week...so this way if she has to be frugal or live on a tight budget its only for the 2 months NOT year round....guess its just what makes you more comfortable.

We are paid year round. However, we went to a new schedule that starts in September. So for this year, they devided our pay into 13 so we would get a check in August this year and the new pay starts in September. That was a huge hit, especially for two teacher homes!

We get our first check of the year in Sept. Then the last day of school, this year May 26, we get three checks. They are handed to us and we determine how they are spent. I place them in my underwear drawer and deposit them when I need them. I try hard not to splurge just because we have them. I know teachers every year buy big purchases with them in June and then they are hurting before Sept.

Year-round. I actually didn't know this and thought it was 10 month, but someone told me "you still get paid in the Summer" and I though "O' hallejulah...maybe I can do some summer work at the university then! :)"

Already lined up to do just 1 month at the university lab helping with research, etc. Then relaxing in July. Then pre-planning and school again.

I can't just sit and relax the whole summer. I'll go insane.

For some bizarre reason (probably Roman) our tax year runs from the 4th April each year so our salaries are calculated from that date.

You are actually paid with cheques! In the UK our salary is divided by 12 and paid every month into our bank accounts

My district ONLY does direct deposit now, either weekly or bi-weekly depending on your position----paras, custodians and cafeteria aides & kitchen staff get paid weekly and teachers, secretaries and administration get paid bi-weekly and we can only do a direct deposit..they actually put that in our contracts!!!!!!

My school is on 12 months, with checks every fourth Friday. However, we get our June, July, and August checks in June.

Our new checks begin the fourth Friday of September.

We have something like this as an option as well, but I've never participated. I'm thinking about it for next year, though.

We get paid twice a month September through June. I would greatly prefer a year-round salary, but it isn't an option. The closest thing is something we can arrange with a credit union.

    ^^This is me!

Our money is direct deposited too. I went from a district that was paid twice a month to one that still pays once a month and it becomes a challenge when the budget is blown.

We get paid on the last day of the month, the 11 month pay schedule would make the last paycheck for June 30th. I signed up for 12 months, so it'll be July 31st.

We are getting our last check in 3 weeks (mid June) which is also our last week of school.

When we start our new pay schedule for the 2015-16 school year its going to be so much better!!! Our new union really did us a favor getting the ''spread out your paychecks'' option so we could get paid up until July 1st when summer school starts..then continue receiving checks for the entire month if you work the summer program.

So, its basically an 11 month cycle if you count the 5 weeks pay for summer school, we will get paid until the first week in August..then start over again Sept 4th for the new school year.

I am just so glad we won't be getting our first paycheck the 3rd week in September......its just too long of a wait!!!!!

Adjusting to smaller checks will be interesting though:eek:

Received my last paycheck on Friday:eek:

But thankfully I get a check from my part time job weekly and will continue to all summer:D it really helps since Summer School doesn't start until July 1st and that goes for just 5 weeks.

Can't wait until the new school year when we start getting paid September 4th and continue to get paid until July.

    Wish we had that already!

I prefer being paid once a month. I could choose to get paid twice a month but I like the one time pay. A lot of people here do have the two check option.

We are paid every other Friday, all year. My salary is spread over 26 pay periods, so there is never a gap in pay. We used to have a 10 or 12 month options but changed to 12 months for all about five years ago. All employees have direct deposited. Paper checks are no longer printed.

We only have direct deposit....everyone has to its in our contract and we now will get paid almost the entire year. August will be the only month we won't get paid, if you are doing summer school, like I am, you will get those extra checks.

    Its tough not getting paid!!!!!

I am so grateful I have my part time job...it doesn't pay a lot but its something, it'll keep me afloat until summer school begins. I have to wait 3 more weeks until I get another ''real'' check from the school:eek:

Ohhhhh I will be so happy when the new school year begins and we start our new pay schedule.

I'll get mine on Friday, which is our last day!

This is a longer summer than usual--10 weeks instead of 9--so it's going to be a long, long time between pays!
