I've been thinking about getting my masters degree and I'm not sure what direction I want to go. Or even what are my options? So what is your masters degree in?
Ed. Leadership/Principalship...I wanted something that gave me more options to get out of the classroom if I ever decide to.
literacy...it has helped me a lot especially with the common core standards. i learn new strategies that help my lessons become more engaging (i dont teach ELA and it is still beneficial)
I'm studying Reading Education. I want to become a specialist someday and have the option to go into policy and/or curriculum writing.
Secondary Education (MEd) and Curriculum and Instruction: Language and Literacy (MA) I felt like my teaching program didn't really get into literacy enough, and I wanted to understand how people learn to read and write so I could teach those skills better.
I need to get mine also. I DO NOT want to be the P. I have done that kind of work before and hate it. I love teaching to much. I am looking at literacy or ESL.
My masters is in Educational Leadership. My 6th year is also in Educational Leadership. If I had known how similar the two programs were, I would have gotten my masters degree in a more content-specific discipline. If I had to get one now, I would probably do something in the area of content-area literacy since that is an interest of mine.
Mine is in Education: Curriculum and Instruction. I will get a masters in Reading eventually, when I can afford it. I teach primary and plan to stay here, so developing expertise in teaching reading would be invaluable for me.
I am halfway through Education Technology Leadership which will allow me to lead in technology and/or administration.
